Was comp’d to see #StEtienne last night on the ‘Farewell’ tour in Brum. A great show with a full house (mostly of a certain age). All the ‘hits’ as you’d expect (which the crowd joined in on). Support from #IrainaMancini and band who was fantastic. Here’s some crappy pictures..

Don’t get me wrong, I love GOAT but fuck me, they don’t half rinse their represses - yet another on the way.

Hey music lovers - if you dig on your dark, atmospheric dreamscape type vibes, head on over to yer Bandcamp and spend a few quid on this. If the teaser tracks are anything to go by, it should be some debut!

Eclipse hidden by one of the very few clouds in the sky - Nice. Weird light and atmosphere though - Feels pretty neat

How bloody hard is it to find decent flat fronted (frogmouth pocket) trousers?

Dropped into Stourbridge today so thought I’d take a quick snap of the #NedsAtomicDustbin mural having driven past it hundreds of times and seeing as we were right under it

I reckon there’s another goal/sending off in this game yet (plus a ruck at the final whistle if Spain win)

Lee @ringo11lee.bsky.social · 19/07/2026

Get in Spain! Have that you cheating pricks

This weeks fresh drops - Debut long player from the Kernowbeat scenesters, The Heavenly Bodes with ‘Green Hills’ plus sophomore album from Lisbon’s EBM monsters Maquina with ‘Body Transmission’ - both on Fuzz Club - 2 very different albums but both brilliant in their own way

Off out to see the #SoledadBrothers & #BlackMekon tonight. Last time I saw them was in 2005 (last time they played in the UK I believe) at the tiny Bar Academy in Brum. Meg White was there too. Coincidentally, Coldrice club nights were run by a pre Black Mekon, Black Mekon 🤯

This weekend’s charity shop purchases were decent - certainly spanning the genres - The 2 10”s from 1960/61 are cool - the sleeves feel like moden screenprinted ones with pasted on track lists

Lee @ringo11lee.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

Thank fuck we beat them - I would have hated to have to boycott Old El Paso taco kits

Never mind, if we get through, that red card will be suspended too #MEXENG

Reading posts about the start of a thunderstorm in Mexico so kick off delayed (for 3 hours?) - scenes in the pub then when they have to kick everyone out after an hour at 5am 😂

4th of July - This tool kills hate - Wayne Kramer

060

Lee @ringo11lee.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

Met the band afterwards and they were lovely however, a big fuck off to the special cunt of a ‘photographer’ who thought it was acceptable to stand right in front of the stage (in front of me) for the last 3 songs - obviously not aware of the photography ‘etiquette’ of first 3 songs and out - Wanker

The Schizophonics were absolutely sensational last night - Just incredible! Spent the whole gig grinning! Took a few pics but due to Pat’s amazing stage (& offstage) performance, most were just a blur. Highlight was the ‘mashup’ of Little Richards’ ‘Bama Lama,Bama Loo & MC5’s ‘Rocket Reducer No 62 ’

Lee @ringo11lee.bsky.social · 30/06/2026

Whoop! Off to see the magnificent #TheSchizophonics at The Tin in Cov tonight put on by @joesors.bsky.social - Should be a good ‘un if their last gig was anything to go by!

Germany beaten on penalties eh? Who’d have thunk it! 🤭😂

The artistic director and his department really hit the brief here “Give us a cover that represents the popularity of Black American soul music in the UK and will stand out in the record shop racks” “I’ve got just the thing boss!” They even credit the fishmonger on the back of the sleeve 😭

010

Lee @ringo11lee.bsky.social · 27/06/2026

Dennis Wilson’s hair looks so cool on this cover 👌🏻

020

Lee @ringo11lee.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

In amazing news, the legendary Soledad Brothers are playing in the UK in July - last time I saw them was over 20 years ago at a Cold Rice club night (they haven’t been back since as a band - nothing to do with me 😉) so I’m really looking forward to it, with Black Mekon supporting too! ✊🏻

030

Lee @ringo11lee.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

Totally agree re Hal @jamesendeacott.bsky.social - loved that album when it came out and had forgotten all about it - when it came on I thought ‘I know this’ but couldn’t remember the band so had to google it! great track though

This week’s fresh drops are very much on a local (Midlands) level - ‘Feel Your Mind’ debut long player from #thegoodwater plus vinyl release of Black Country duo #GANS’s first recordings initially released on CDr - ‘GANS 1’ Both well worth investing a few quid into #RingoRecommendations

Skin of the teeth stuff from Scotland there - Can imagine the bars will be drunk dry in Boston tonight though 😂
