They actually did it in-universe. Most ogors are like Easter and Christmas worshipers, some are way into Gorkamorka, and Redd and his new movement are lovecraftian adherents of the idea that GM is a false deity whose basically been tricking them since the age of myth.

Daemons do still disappear (it’s a notable thing for Gobsprakk that he trapped a Lord of Change’s hand in the material world to top his staff as a flex). At one point Butchers figured out how to eat fleeing daemon energy and ectoplasm but that’s old lore so idk if it’ll be the same in the new book!

Gloomspite is excellent: normal person perspective and unique villain. The Hollow King is a personal favorite, Cado’s an interesting protagonist and we get a solid look at the edges of society. Godeater’s Son is the best Warhammer novel.
