This week's Micro_Monday project involves playing a MIDI file from an SD card. The SD slot is part of my data logging shield for Arduino, with a MIDI shield stacked on top of it, connected via the ESi MIDImate EX USB MIDI interface, which I originally bought for my Alesis SR-16 drum machine.

Elly and I are making the tough decision of whether to prolong the life of our 15-year-old cat Mika, or to have her euthanized. I don’t want to let Mika go, but I also don’t want to let her suffer. 😢

This week's Micro_Monday project demonstrates scrolling text on a 14-segment 4-digit display, run by the HT16K33 driver chip. The display is receiving data using I2C, which allows devices to be run on only two data lines: data and clock Next week, I'll be playing with MIDI on the Arduino. 😉

There is a feature on my Pulsar digital watch from 1984, that I discovered by accident while wearing polarized sunglasses last Saturday. In the video, I used my camera’s polarization filter to re-create the effect.

Lost track of time tonight. ^^; This week's Micro_Mondays project displays an approximation of "rinbeast" on an 8-digit 7-segment display driven by a MAX7219 LED driver chip. I used the "max7219" Arduino library to draw the text on the display.

After hearing so many complaints about the snare drum sound on the Korg Volca Beats and how it can be corrected with a single capacitor, I decided to open my unit up and try my hand at modding it. I've never worked with solder pads that are so tiny; thank heavens my soldering iron has a fine tip.

My third and final Korg Volca has been ordered: the Volca Beats, which is a drum machine with 10 drum sounds - 6 analog, 4 sampled. After listening to demos on YouTube, I've noticed that a lot of people hate how its snare drum sounds. But as Charli XCX would say: I don't care - I love it.

A supplement to yesterday’s Micro_Monday project. The soft white filament that I chose for the key bed and the light strip diffuser actually glow in the dark! 😄 I did this as a nod to the rare Yamaha DX7 II Centennial Edition synthesizer from 1987, whose white keys also glow in the dark.

Using rechargeable LED UV flashlight to charge up the green glow 3-D printed parts.

It's always fun to wake up to a song on the radio that was played in SL the night before. Last night, for example, during my anniversary set, I played "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas, and then this morning, I'm waking up to it on my clock radio. This has happened with other songs as well. 😅

Last night's Latin infused set was very fun -- or in Spanish, muy divertido. Lots of my favorite songs were played by musicians like Santana, Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Bad Bunny, Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony, and much more. Next Friday is my anniversary set, and I can hardly wait. 😁

While looking through my collection of vintage watches, I found this Carravelle M3 watch from around 1963. At some point in time (no pun intended), this watch, along with another by the same brand, was worn by my maternal grandfather. While the other watch doesn’t work, this one still does. 😎

This week’s Micro_Mondays project features an Arduino controlled robot arm assembly with 4 degrees of freedom. The potentiometers and the servos are connected to a custom Arduino shield board made by the manufacturer.

Been taking a lot of photos and videos on my iPhone using this gimbal that I recently bought on Amazon. I’ve been waiting for it to go on sale for a number of years instead of paying the full $76 for it. So when I saw it on sale for $38, I went ahead and bought it.

This week’s Micro_Monday project is a clock that uses the LCD keypad shield with the relatively common data logging shield available for the Arduino Uno, a shield that accepts regular size SD cards and has a DS1307 real time clock (RTC) chip on board. A 3V CR1220 is used for battery backup.

This week’s Micro_Monday project demonstrates the use of a four-way directional pad on the DFRobot LCD keypad shield. This very versatile shield will work with just about any Arduino board you can think of, including the Mega 2560 like in this example. Also, Konami code for the win. 😉
