Image from the game Plants vs Zombies, of a zombie wearing a suit less pants, and white boxers with hearts on them, askew glasses, while reading a newspaper held upside down.

Does this boat actually say "Total Chaos" on the side? Now I'm curious.

Something I often see misunderstood is that the progressive income tax only applies the higher bracket tax percentage to income over that bracket. www.irs.gov/filing/feder...
Image/text selected from the IRS website https://www.irs.gov/filing/federal-income-tax-rates-and-brackets

Here's how that works for a single person with taxable income of $58,000 per year.:

Income portion between $58,000 and $47,150 is taxed at 22%
Income portion between $47,150 and $11,600 is taxed at 12%
Income portion between $0 and $11,600 is taxed at 10%

For some reason I thought this was a good idea. I prompted Dezgo Flux with "Bill Maher dressed like Kid Rock." I'm going to give it 6/10 for execution, not bad for the first result.

A movie poster for "1984".
Headline: "Will Ecstasy be a Crime"
Below this is art depicting someone with an armband reading "anti-sex league" watching a couple kissing on some sort of computer console monitor, their finger poised to use the control panel below it. Next to and in line with this art are the following words:
"...In the terrifying world of the future?"
"Amazing wonders of Tomorrow!"
"Nothing like it ever Filmed!"
"From the startling George Orwell Novel!"

Below this art scene and word combo is a "rocket ship" (looks somewhat like a WWII vintage V-2 rocket?) flying from left to right over a line art cityscape, and a large bolded "1984" on the right.

A green line, below which lies the credits section:
Edmond O'Brien
Michael Redgrave
Jan Sterling
Screenplay by William P Templeton and Ralph Bettinson - From the book by George Orwell
Directed by Michael Anderson - A Holiday Production - A Columbia Picture

That link ought to include a picture.
An artist 3d image of the spin launch system, which is a large circular structure positioned at an approximately 45 degree angle from level, next to support buildings and infrastructure.
Inside this structure, the spin launch mechanism spins whatever they are launching at high speed, until it's launched through the exit tube towards space.
It takes a bunch of math and engineering to get that working and they are still testing it.

Sometimes when I see a post like that I am reminded that AI image generators exist, and I try putting that in as a prompt to see what it comes up with. So, dezgo.com Text-to-Image XL Flux - "Prompt: RNC Stood By and Let Mark Elias Steal Seats in California in Broad Daylight" The first 4 results:

I've wondered whether the U.S. education system's results are declining for years, but don't have solid reasons, just vague impressions. I've heard standardized testing is part of the issue, but if this is accurate it depends on the test and school: www.britannica.com/procon/stand...

Sometimes I see a post and decide to throw it at dezgo to see what the image generator comes up with. "An ant hellbent on vengeance becomes a blue wizard."

This might be a dumb question, but... By whom and how is it determined which sites show up in share buttons on other sites? I know you can just post URL's into posts, here. Example image:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newspap... It seems "paper of record" relies on the size and reach of the org. An organization with equal or better independent and accurate news gathering, yet which is not seen by as many persons, would be further down this hierarchy.
A newspaper of record is a major national newspaper with large circulation whose editorial and news-gathering functions are considered authoritative and independent; they are thus "newspapers of record by reputation" and include some of the oldest and most widely respected newspapers in the world. The number and trend of "newspapers of record by reputation" is related to the state of press freedom and political freedom in a country.

It may also be a newspaper authorized to publish public or legal notices, thus serving as a newspaper of public record. A newspaper whose editorial content is directed by the state can be referred to as an official newspaper of record, but the lack of editorial independence means that it is not a "newspaper of record by reputation". Newspapers of record by reputation that focus on business can also be called newspapers of financial record.

This is apparently a map made in 2018, with the coloring of a locality depending on what percentage of 2016 election votes went to Trump. For some reason, every locality in Alaska and Hawaii are the same shade, and that seems unlikely. I found it here: dabrownstein.com/tag/purple-s...

Told an AI image generator: A pale green translucent gelatinous ooze posing in front of a United States government seal with the words "Office of Government Efficiency" on it. Of course, it messed up the wording.
