You know your fit goes crazy when you have an older woman walk past on her way into the theater you just left feeling the urge to say "Jesus Loves You." Oh yeah, Resident Evil was fucking excellent btw.

The chintzy-looking M64 clone console of the N64 by a company named ModRetro has been released, I think, I don't pay attention that closely to shit. But as the great @frankcifaldi.bsky.social posted before, it is our civic duty to push back against this company and shun ANYONE who doesn't.

Introduce yourself with 4 games (May do another set or two because why not but here you go)

Cover art of the classic First-Person Shooter Doom (1993); Needs absolutely no introduction. It's fuckin' DOOM.

Cover art for Mortal Kombat: Deception (2004) This spot could've probably gone to any of the 3D era MK games easily (if I had to pick another, the honor would most likely go to Shaolin Monks because that game is just an incredible beat-em-up top to bottom,) but Deception's atmosphere & single player content I think sets it above the rest. This series morphed me into that weirdo who plays fighting games for the story, and I think experiencing Deception's Konquest during my formative years was the #1 catalyst for that.

Cover art for Gex (1995) not too much to say about this one. I love platformers, Gex has stumbled into meme status a bit over the years I think because of how aggressively 90s the character & franchise as a whole are with all the goofy pop culture references and whatnot, but as someone who only played the trilogy last year with the rerelease on modern consoles, I couldn't help but fall in love with that energy, especially in the original. Classic, tough-as-nails but oh so satisfying to master 2D platforming action with a goofy lizard dude. Hell yeah, sign me up.

Cover art for Silent Hill (1999) stumbled across a copy in a stack of old discs we had lying around the apartment I lived in as a young teen, completely unaware of what it was and where it even came from so even before putting it into my PS2 I was mystified. It's honestly a toss-up for me which Silent Hill I prefer between 1 and 2 (they're the only ones besides Shattered Memories that I've seen credits on, call me a LARPer all you want for that) but I was always kinda disheartened by how overlooked the original is by comparison. Hopefully Bloober Team's remake can rectify that. I think they completely knocked it out of the park with the SH2 remake so I'm confident they can do it again with the one where it all began.

THIS IS SO REAL my current phone is one of the newer model Motorola Razrs and I dunno if I'll be OK with potentially going back to a regular smartphone afterwards. Flipping it open and shut is too much fun

Hell yeah, hope you enjoy! I finished it yesterday, dare I say it's the best out of the new games, maybe excluding the REmakes? It's at least up there with REmakes 2 & 4 for sure
