This reinforces evidence from revenue. Surtax collections rose every year since 2023: $2.46 billion in FY 2024 $2.99 billion in FY 2025 In 2026, it jumped 19%. The story of massive panic departures told by Bloomberg, Fox, Pioneer Institute etc is wrong.

Does taxing the rich drive them away? This week, the IRS released new data on Massachusetts taxpayers making $1+ million annually in 2023. This is the 1st year of data since MA's 4% surtax on income above $1M, passed in 2022: 2022 filers: 27,270 2023 filers: 27,450 Base grew a bit, no contraction.
