RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 08/10/2026It's been beautiful in leafy Cheshire this morning, too, but dulling over as I type. Looks like a drop'o'watter's on th'way 😬😊 110
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 08/10/2026It's always been that in 'murica, book and film. Who am I to ponder any possible difficulty comprehending the word 'Philosopher'? 010

RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Brand's already 'prophesying' it as his 'plaguey-wagey' on those who would falsely imprison the kind-hearted but misunderstood among us. Also, jealous commentators upon, etc. 010
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 05/10/2026They can still do it whilst the 'Righties' are down the wine bar. 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 05/10/2026That person who informed you? Do not - repeat not - buy a bridge from that person . . . nor any magic beans. 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Following mad tory Rob Buckland trying to skewer Labour over jury trials, we now get Jeffrey Archer 'commenting' on Labour policies on flagship BBC radio show. "Yes, Sir!! Can bally well do! How long?" And for 'balance'? Lady who wrote 'Vera'. I see. By Heck. 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Yes. I'd still buy it in glass bottles, though not sure about the cheaper supermarket ones: they're OK, and could prototype 'fruit juice' type paper-carton-with-screw-top packs, certainly for flat waters. 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I was a cynic, but then I tried a few: natural mineral is nothing like tap (I prefer fizzy) and I've come to love it. I'm around 50% down on tea & coffee, now. The point about plastic bottles is a good one, though, and will need addressing soon. I'm officially 20% San Pellegrino, btw 😊 101
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I've 'cuppa'd' there in that lovely tearoom! WARNING!!: Chaffinches pinch breadcrumbs from little breadbaskets there, whether your order is present or not - they may also leave samples of their own 'special sauce' on your butties - YHBW 😬 Cheeky fellows. 110
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Yes, indeed. Try watching 'private' streaming services such as Netflix without an account. I subscribe to none and, unsurprisingly, don't see any, despite their portals being situated everywhere, like trapdoor spiders. I have no FOMO, btw. 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Even chops from a proper butcher are unrecognisable from the slender, plastic-wrapped (and so often tough) supermarket offerings. And you don't get them offered on a bed of wrapping to inspect before buying in Aldi etc. And offal needs to be FRESH, which it will be at a traditional butcher's. 010
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I still remember Mum calling me to the hall one morning, and seeing a perfect, white, inverse image of the opened door in the drifted snow, from top to bottom. That was '63, and fired one youngster's imagination at a thing we no longer seem to get. Dad shut the door and got his spade. 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 24/09/2026They had an alcohol ban at certain rugby matches too - the fans injected oranges, of which they ate plenty during play. If so minded, myriad ways to consume are open to the determined. Not sure how getting rat-arsed before entry is viewed by the clubs. 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 23/09/2026They kindly planted rowan and beech (I think) trees for me last year: excited to see what I got this year by next Spring! 😁 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I heard this: it's hard to describe my contempt for what the BBC has become: they're well aware of the difference between free speech, per se, and the right to disinform with lies and fakery and malice aforethought. They choose to muddy the waters. 010
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 20/09/2026I've forwarded your plea to ITV - would do my old bones good to know I'm not contributing to her pension in any way, shape or form. 020

RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 18/09/2026All surviving US presidents are able to talk together and are comfortable in each other's company, regardless of politics. All but one, that is. It isn't just 'presidency': Trump has no intention of speaking with the common man, either. Or making 'deals' (other people's jobs). An atrocious slob. 000

RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 15/09/2026What polls would those be, then? Spectator staff straw poll? The 'I read Mein Kampf and it weren't bad' readers' poll? Pineapple Poll? Politico poll of polls? Coutts really were on the button with Farage, weren't they? Totally untrustworthy. 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 12/09/2026.. rightwards, losing listeners like some moulting old crow. Zeffman and Adler may be offered a full-time seat now - perhaps both in light of the recent loss of the garrulous but bright Amol Rajan. What used to be essential morning listening now runs for 15-20 minutes, tops, on my radio. Shame. 001
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Interesting read in the i paper today: Emma Barnett to leave R4 Today after just two years (though she has recently recovered from surgery). The (mutual) friction with Robinson must also be a factor in her decision. I agree she would be better used as a lead, whilst Today continues its sharp turn 100
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 12/09/2026This could have been written any time over the summer with total relevance: have we as a nation finally given in to the incessant promotion of the Right that we no longer feel anger, or even disquiet, at the mob activities outside holding sites for incomers? At least you did/do your bit. 100
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Magnificent victory! And in a state with more reason than most to detest Trump and his fake, kiss-ass administration. Madam, I salute you! 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Those ghastly scenes of mullahs prodding burnt US corpses in the crashed helicopter - poor Jimmy Carter, who wouldn't cheat to save his life, had no clue of Republican machinations below the table but had to try to deal with an unwinnable situation with Reagan sniping from the sidelines. Ugh. 010
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Yes, I think you're right, and police have admitted today they had heads-up about the 'demo' but didn't take it seriously enough. You don't say? 🙄 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 08/09/2026A bit of both, I think. He is an experienced lawyer at the highest level, and may have quailed at our purported international image once these measures are enacted. I'm pleased Burnham & Miliband, with others, haven't allowed this to any longer obstruct the clear and present requirement for action. 100
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Good address, wasn't it? Now for tories to rubbish everything, Miliband, etc. A good opportunity to amplify the message lost to tory juvenility. 100
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 08/09/2026I await the opposition response with a sort of tired anticipation of ad hominem attacks and hopscotching around salient facts: here at last is an issue opponents can join with the government to amplify the message, but they will not do so. 000
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Well said, Miliband. A thoughtful speech in which not only certain Israeli interests are targeted but also those outside Israel which strive to cause Israeli bloodshed, too. The crucial concept of a two-state solution would be lost without readdressing the current situation, as other nations concur. 110
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Look it up and draw your own conclusion based on his physical condition and lack of intellectual competence. 100
RickyBee @rickybee.bsky.social · 08/09/2026I disagree with you fundamentally. Steven Cheung and his staff produce and disseminate the 'evening' posts, some from Trump's verbal utterances and some on their own initiative, subsequently approved. 100
