Amen. AI is useful for certain types of problems but not for others. Why company executives don’t appreciate that sufficiently to investigate and understand that before committing $$$ to AI is beyond me.

He’s out of his mind. When Nixon was having conversations with the paintings of long dead presidents in the White House, Alexander Haig was there to constrain him from making dangerous decisions. Haig was conservative, but he was not a sycophant. There is no one like him to constrain Trump.

Hillary Clinton: "It is shocking that Trump said no one informed him that Iran could close the Strait of Hormuz— I find it unbelievable that one of the fundamental pillars of geopolitical strategy in the Middle East was ignored — that was the first thing we assumed Iran would do”

You got it. It’s all about being reasonable - able to reason. Now go the next step. That blasphemous self-image the other day? Trump knows he’s not the Second Coming or the Antichrist. But he does seem to see himself as the small m-messiah of the poorly educated whom he loves. The Antireason.

That’s been known for years. I first looked into GEO Group about five years ago They were being sued back then for the conditions at their sites and for how they treated prisoners and detainees. Back then, they were pitching immigration detainment as a growth industry.

Agreed. But also no deferments. Vietnam ended quickly when college deferments were dropped. And as for bone spurs, you can serve in other capacities. Latrine construction, maintenance, and cleaning, for example.

Truth. As a clinical engineer, I worked with nurses in every care setting for over 40 years. Nurses always spoke truth to power, whether it was physicians, administrators, or anyone else. I learned early on that nurses were a patient’s greatest advocates.

… His followers know he loves the poorly educated. He loves them. He loves those who reject what they see as the tyranny of reflective thought. Of Reason. Trump and his disciples see him not so much as the Anti-Christ but rather the Anti-Reason. His rejection of reason justifies them.

… leads a nation with a vast collection of nuclear arms. Its leader revels in creating alternative facts just about every time he talks or tweets. He knows the picture shows him as a messiah, a word which means liberator. It makes a connection to the Christian Messiah for obvious reasons …

Humanity entered the Age of Reason during the 17th and 18th centuries. We are now destroying the fruits of Reason. Science in general. Vaccines in particular. We look to and take advice from chatbots on matters of our health and well being. A political movement grounded in “alternative facts” …

Trump has Roughly cost us $100,000–$110,000 per day of taxpayer money, playing golf. Every single day of his presidency. Meanwhile, 40–60% of Americans can’t cover a $1,000 emergency without going into debt. Let that sink in.

Watch out for ANYONE telling you not to vote "lesser of two evils" because those are the people who bitch the most and rarely vote, assuming they're even actual Americans. Every vote matters. Vote in November. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

Combination of both. He knows he isn’t God, and he knows the picture shows him as a divine being, so he’s lying. But does seem to believe he’s been divinely ordained and empowered, so he’s cognitively checked out Along with several million people who continue to support him

… As for the millions of illiterates that constitute the MAGA base. If they were a rock band they’d be known as the Moronic Minions. Fact: 50% of this country cannot read above a 6th grade level. Neither can he. So they believe he relates to them. And he does, like a fly trapped in a spider’s web.

Give him a break. He’s always been impatient and impulsive. He’s never had time to learn how to think. He wouldn’t know how if he wanted to. Netanyahu is not the only one who knows this. Vought and Thiel do as well, among others. Ditto the sycophants in his cabinet, who depend on his stupidity …

When I reflect on any part of space flight, it’s always amazing. I’ll give it that. But I’ve seen a lot of flights since the Mercury Program. And right now I’m tired. Tired of this country ALWAYS finding an excuse to get into a war every few years. ALWAYS finding the funds for it. So fuck NASA.
