I grabbed a nice trading-card commemorating my local library branch (Ridgewood NY) and its really setting off my 10yo brain and I now want to go to every Queens library (67 of them) and get the whole set

sometimes when AI starts writing for you and u didnt ask it to, it actually slows u down alot because it takes time to rewrite and figure out how to not sound like AI. like theres only so many ways to say simple things and it just took the main/easy option away from you

back in the day it felt like the only hiphop a white kid could like was WuTang and Gangstarr. So now there's tons of 90s artists Im just hearing with a nice blend of smart raps and street raps

I got kinda into throwing barely-provacative comments up on youtube videos (eg: Just Blaze is SO much better than Kanye) and I dont regret it but sometimes years later I want to send a song to someone and that comment is just chilling waiting

Sometimes it feels a little silly to be like '1999 music = good, 2000 music = bad' but also one year does matter alot especially when a major technological shift (accessibility to computers) is looming

I cant figure out why I downloaded Dolly Parton's "Two Doors Down" a month ago (well before she she passed). I assume I intened to sample the intro or crib the chords from it but odd choice, odd song

Ive lost the plot these last few weeks and (midi) programmed prog/fusion, dc gogo, industrial metal. i know whenever im doing one-off genre exercises theyre pretty much useless: even if its cranking, what am I going to do with ONE gogo song?

Jolene is always funny to me. I always imagine Jolene is Dolly's homely BFF: "Ohh Jolene dont listen to those jerks, I think youre sooooo pretty. Please dont take my man" Yeah Right ain nobody taking your man, youre Dolly Parton

i wouldnt say Dr.Dre makes bad music but Id say that he always relies heavily on outsourcing and collaboration. im not sure whats left over if you subtract greatness like PFunk, Snoop, EazyE, 50, Eminem, all the ghostwriters & beatmakers etc

I was thinking my next album would be influenced by Tony Hawk soundtracks, then I could just put a punk track right after a jungle track after a boombap track and it would all sorta make sense

It wouldnt have made tooo much of a difference, but why was there a portal in 'Backrooms' (2026)? One corridor/doorway is supposed to mysteriously lead to another like a dream, not 'Wtf we just jumped through a Videodrone Portal I guess now we're in the Backrooms Unreality'

I found (and carried home) about 100(?) records last night. I cant tell if its somebodys entire collection or just things theyre sick of, but its all over the place: jazz, classic rock, sample fodder, local indie, an overpackaged DnB compilation

its neat to pore over hiking maps, road maps, books, blogs etc piecing together a remote hike: every source is pretty different and all will be sorta incomplete once yr there. if places are (semi) wild, or returning to wild, they dont want to be discovered
