I was literally watching the excellent movie Moby Dick (1956) yesterday 🙀 It’s like @beetlemoses.bsky.social is reading my mind 😆

I beat Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice/Episode 4: Turnabout Storyteller, which was a fairly easy case. I must say the Spirit of Justice series is all over the place, I wonder how it will come together, if at all

It must have taken me 50 tries, but I finally defeated the Ninth Sister in Jedi Survivor on Jedi Master difficulty. My old Jedi Fallen Order skills are re-emerging. It was tough because in her last phase you suddenly get a new fighting stance you have no experience with while she goes in rage mode.

Playing Jedi Survivor: Gosh, I hope I don't have to fight the Ninth Sister again anytime soon, that was the toughest bossfight in Jedi Fallen Order. First boss fight: 🤦‍♂️ Already got my ass kicked ten times now 🫠

A little souvenir from my Roman Germany expedition. A copy of the ‘Sappho’ fresco from Pompeii. Officially called ‘Portrait of a Young Woman with Stylus and Wax Tablets’. Eyes staring at you, contemplating, from 2000 years distance.

I love that Star Wars Zero Company is completely immersed in Star Wars lore. From subtle references like Anakin saying “Impressive. Most Impressive”, to Trick discussing traitor jedi general Pong Krell from the Clone Wars, to hilariously cringe chapter heading ‘The Fantom Menace’ 😆

Another reason for going to the Strabrechtse Heide today was to visit the local forest where the remains of the WWII hiding camp ‘Dennelust’ is located, where during 1943-44 around 40 people (evading forced labour in Germany, resistance fighters, and downed Allied air men) hid from the Germans.

In Star Wars Zero Company playing on Hard I just beat a critical Coil mission with danger level Extreme, and even though two of my men had injuries, I am feeling pretty pleased with myself right now.

People from far and wide are gathering on ‘the roof of Brabant’, the highest ‘mountain’ in the province at 62 metres high, to watch the solar eclipse. The tiniest sliver of the Sun is already eclipsed

Thank hell and heaven but they were delivered just in time for tonight’s solar eclipse. It will be about 90% total in the Netherlands. The next solar eclipse in the Netherlands won’t be until 2081.

Near Kampen is the Waterloopbos, where in the age before computers, various designs for the Dutch massive coastal water defences (Deltawerken) and new harbours around the world were simulated at scale mechanically using wave and water flow machines. Fascinating ingenuity by the engineers.

In the end China won with a crushing economic victory of 143 points, but Russia had the satisfaction of leaving Europe and US in the dust with 124 points vs 113 and 109 points. World Order is an excellent game but it takes almost very long time to play

👨‍🚀 Rick Hunter 🚀 ❤️ 🇺🇦 ❤️ @rickhunter.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

First time playing World Order, yet way ahead at the halfway point playing as Russia with 76 points versus 57 for Europe and US. Will my ruthlessly intimidating militaristic play style give me the end game win ?

After seeing the Frida Kahlo exhibition in the Tate Modern in London, now off to see today’s main event: Betelgeuse the musical ! 😱🎼 My little nephews have no idea what Betelgeuse is, I hope the play can live up to the gloriously funny movie.

I beat Subnautica: Below Zero which gameplay wise was very similar to the original, but has very different level layouts and story, or actually two distinct stories. I very much enjoyed it, but I preferred the crushing isolation and loneliness of the original for the Robinson Crusoe experience.

I finally beat Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice episode 3: The Rite of Turnabout, saving Maya who was accused of murder. I found the Divination Séances extremely tough to solve. Ruthless. Great to see Maya again, still an impish Steel Samurai fangirl even now she's all grown up

For tomorrow, for the first time ever, the Netherlands has issued a code red heat alert 🚨 as we shatter temperature records… …and everyone in my company has to go to the office tomorrow for a company event, which is 5 hours travel for me 🥵 I have strong opinions on this company decision.

Aliens Dark Descent is an excellent game that perfectly captures the Aliens franchise atmosphere, visuals and sounds. However, it is brutally hard and unforgiving, as well as extremely tense, so I can only play it in the weekend. beep...beep....BEEP....BEEP....BEEPBEEPBEEP "We've got incoming !"

Bird nest made of leftover fiberoptic drone cable on the Ukrainian frontline. Tens of millions of kilometres of this stuff is already out there to become microplastic pollution, along with mines, bombs and other war related pollution which will take a century or more to clean up.

Trucy's criminal mastermind seemed to finally be uncovered as she was accused of murder in episode 2: The Magical Turnabout of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice, but Apollo and Athena managed to get her exonerated. Relatively easy case, sometimes bewildering.
