After years of adventures as "Rich & Joe Bushcraft," this account is getting a new life. My son traded campfires for coding, so I'm repurposing this account for my writing. Thanks to those who followed our outdoor adventures, and I hope some of you will stick around for this next chapter.

Tall people are not offended at all. It makes more sense to ask someone to reach something than it does to try climbing up the shelves like my wife does... As a tall person, short people are also handy at seeing the items I can't find, because they can see what's on the bottom shelves 🤣

As a tall person, I actually expect to be asked, but I think it is logical. If I don't help, they might try to climb up (like my wife) and get hurt. Just like I actually rely on short people (my wife) to help me find things out of view, like on bottom shelves that I can't see on from up here 🤣

It took therapy and adjustments, but he's back to being the little Mr Awesome he's meant to be 🤣 If schools go back to lock down again, I just hope they learned and have a better system set up for the IEP kids.

Have you ever actually spoken to anyone in another country or watched foreign news...? Biden destroyed our standing in the eyes of the world? 🤣🤷 Also, VPs do nothing. Nothing. They don't set policy of any kind or run anything. They break voting ties when needed in Senate and they "wait"

Why can't they just let us go back to being the shamans we were meant to be going back thousands of years? Autism has always been here... It isn't new from climate change or aliens. It just wasn't recognized and didn't have a name or diagnoses in the medical world.

Same. It gave me the excuse I needed to not "people" because peopling is exhausting. 🤣 My son didn't handle the remote school so well though... His AuDHD had him regressing so badly, because it broke the routine he relied on. Going back was even worse, because he didn't know how to be w/kids.

This is why I shopped @ places that specifically took care of their essential workers during the lock downs. We had one that increased their hourly pay up front, then increased prices and had that increase go to the workers as well. I'm willing to pay more when I know it is going directly to workers

All white meat, so as in they only use white seagulls, no longer using gray seagulls. Same great taste!

Yeah, it has been a number of months since his ABA ended, and he still talks about missing his provider. She was so nice and he loved her. They used to work at the kitchen table right behind my work spot where I telecommute, and he enjoyed the tasks they did together. He used to make her laugh 🤣

Thank you for this! So my son might have fallen under the 16%. It really helped him come out of his shell with other kids, learn to recognize facial expressions, be supportive with peoples feelings, etc. These gave him so much anxiety before ABA.

Can you please explain the ABA issue? My son loved his ABA, and it really helped him. Is the issue with specific types of ABA services that maybe my son didn't receive? Just know that I'm not fighting... I am just possibly unaware and want to change that.

Is it more common to be higher tones or lower? I'm curious, because I discovered years ago that I was able to hear really low tones in the elephant range. It was at a science center exhibit, and my friends were weirded out that I was still hearing the tones when lowered to what an elephant can hear.

Facebook has become propaganda trash, and many people avoid it along Twitter. Discord at least brings people direct to you instead of needing to swim through the swamp to get to you.

When my son (now 12) was diagnosed a few years ago, that's how I realized all of the struggles he has were also my own and they were traits of his autism. I also have since come to realize I have CPTSD as well from the years of bullying both in school and at home, because I was different.

Because autistic folk tend to fly into walls? When they find the flies who walk into rooms and forget why they went in there, then we can talk.

I'm a 50-year-old white cis man, and I honestly don't get why so many people have issues w/you just existing. It could be the Masshole mentality of, "I don't care what you're doing for your personal business, because I don't want anyone up in MY business." Or maybe my AuDHD support of other groups.
