Even if Stockholm Syndrome was actually used on a real-life woman who criticised the police of mishandling the infamous 1973 bank heist, HD Carlton saying like this about Adeline, even if she's a fictional woman, feels misogynistic. And fiction can still be a powerful teaching tool in today's era.

The anime adaptation's visuals have used cultural erasure, censoring it so much and the webtoon's Japanese translation has completely wiped out any Korean-related stuff. It's something that diehard SoLev fans have to acknowledge as it's obvious that Japanese publishers don't want their local readers

Unpopular take: Solo Leveling is definitely one of the most popular franchises that don't age well as it really doesn't feel progressive. The story was fair for its day since the original author wasn't exposed to diversity and social commentaries were difficult to talk about in South Korea 2010s.

I also want to say that I do think the new twitter AI feature on images is horrible for artists. That being said, I have always thought & still think the REAL danger is with real photos and deepfakes. There absolutely NEEDS to be regulation against AI, not just for copyright, but for safety reasons.
