Richie Hill @richiehill.bsky.social · 27/05/2026Scarce Chasers are out. As usual, they are anything but scarce. Large numbers in the park and meadow by the house. Also Common Blue butterfly in the meadow, and Red-and-black Froghopper in the garden 000

Richie Hill @richiehill.bsky.social · 12/05/2026Thanks to the fantastic guided walk at Strumpshaw Fen last week by @djlbirding.bsky.social for getting my ears in Garden Warbler song. Left me suspecting we had one singing in the bushes opposite the house, among all the Blackcap activity. Picked one out by sound, and then sight at 5am this morning 121
Richie Hill @richiehill.bsky.social · 09/05/2026Only 2 species in the moth trap last night, but one them did lay a load of eggs - first time I've had that happen! 000
Richie Hill @richiehill.bsky.social · 05/05/2026Don't recall seeing St Mark's Flies on the estate since I've been here, but there was a large emergence about 2 weeks ago. Meadow was full of them and a good number made it the garden as well 000
Richie Hill @richiehill.bsky.social · 05/05/2026Green Woodpecker currently feeding just outside the garden fence. Silently willing it just to hop through and onto the garden list... 000
Richie Hill @richiehill.bsky.social · 04/07/2025Video doesn't do it justice but these bushes in my local park full of Peacock butterflies. Good numbers of Whites and Commas too, as well as a Small Copper. Six-Spot Burnet and Hummingbird Hawkmoth seen nearby too @norfolkbutterflies.bsky.social 010
