If you try to please everyone, you'll end up pleasing no-one. This isn't just limited to game dev. Make the game YOU want to play and you'll attract like minded people. Don't be fooled into thinking all criticism is bad, but modulate it based on YOUR expectations, not some random spod off the net.

Have some simple goals and put hands on keyboard. e.g. Make a textbox change when a button is clicked (the textbox listens for a pressed signal from the button) Have 2 empty scenes and work through how to switch between them. ( get_tree().change_scene("res://path/to/scene.tscn") ) Learn by doing.

If you want people to base their business off your product. Your product MUST be stable. I moved to Godot from Unity (no regrets) after the licensing nonsense. It's also why I don't use LLM's and agents in my development process. They aren't stable / reliable / predictable.

#GodotEngine #Godot #IndieDevLog #ImSim Got a couple of hours of Duck Coding yesterday. What's Duck Coding? It's when you do loads of work under the hood (water) and nothing 'visibly' changes. It's usually prep work for things to come or refactoring existing code. This was a bit of both.

I tend to only meet good people on here. Instead of having 'an algorythm' decide who I get to interact with depending on who's funding it. It's like the very earliest days of the internet. You naturally bump into similar folks. What goes around comes around I guess.
