@TheVoidTLMB mine came with different colour glasses :-) My parents bought very posh reflector “periscope” eclipse viewers where you stand with your back to the sun and look over your head. They gave them to me after the 1999 eclipse so I now use them instead.
Book “The RGO Guide to the 1999 Total Eclipse of the Sun” with accompanying yellow cardboard eclipse viewing safety glasses. Next to it is a black plastic “Eclipse Viewer” with a slot you hold up to your eyes to view the image inside. The construction has a series of dark reflectors that act like a periscope so you see a very much dimmed reflected image of what’s behind and above you.

It’s a picture of a gold statue leaning backwards on a red folded satin background with the folds making a starburst emanating from the statue. The statue appears to be saluting a gold crown. The statue is inside a circular cog which is on top of a 5 pointed star. All in gold. I’ve no idea what it means either!

I’ve overlaid text on the top from the running app: week 8, run 2, 28 minutes, 3.08km.

Selfie of Richard in a running cap, whilst in motion. A river estuary is in the background, along with a footpath and a single track railway. The sun is out with a few clouds in the sky. It is idyllic.

Text: week 8, run 1, 28 minutes, distance 3.18km.

A terminal window with the command “date +%s” being run repeatedly until the answer is exactly 1234567890

End of week 6 of #CouchTo5k My first 25 min run. By 8 minutes in I started to enjoy it a bit. Then waves of struggling, and it being ok, presumably as endorphins neutralised the pain in my leg muscles. If I can do 25 minutes now I’ll be able to […] [Original post on mastodon.richardloxley.com]
Richard in a running hat in some leafy shade at the end of a 25 minute run. A cloudless blue sky and green playing field behind me.
