Another new species for the garden ringing list was had this week when this juvenile #Wheatear flew into my mist net. The species is seen in small numbers here on the clifftops on passage but has only once visited the garden before. Species #72 #BirdRinging #GowerBirds

Epic recovery report just received! ⚠️ A Turnstone I trapped using a homemade walk-in trap has been recaptured in the 🌍 world’s 🌎 northernmost continuously inhabited settlement. Ringed on 12 February 2024 in Southend-on-Sea, Essex 🇬🇧, it was re-trapped on 08 June 2025 in Alert, Nunavut… 🇨🇦 (🧵 1/2)

Results from garden ringing in 2024. 2155 birds ringed of 54 species. 5 new species for the site were Nightjar, YellowWagtail, YellowBrowedWarbler , CettisWarbler & RingOuzel. Some species numbers were up dramatically from previous totals, others were noticeably down. #birdringing 1/3
