So when I see social media comments of “well the kid shouldn’t have run out” or “that’s a stupid place to cross the road”, I just think “yep. Wait until you’re sitting in the High Court and tell the judge that”. Except they won’t have to because their insurers will settle long before it gets there.

I worked in claims for 5 years and I heard of one occasion where our driver wasn’t at fault in a collision with a pedestrian. It was big news. We dealt with 100s of thousands of claims every year and it was the one time it happened.

Exactly this and the same in the UK. I worked for a motor insurance company in claims and it’s incredibly difficult to find a ped or cyclist at fault.

On one of my Saabs, the speedo goes up to 160mph, but the gaps between the speeds is bigger between 0-100 than between 100-160. It makes it easier to read at the speeds where you need to see the difference.

That is annoying, especially since surely the benefit of going electronic is the ability to easily change it!
