Quick Rhythm Rivals update: I’m now planning to open auditions for remaining voice roles around the start of November! (Please be aware these are VOLUNTEER positions) I’ll be rolling out a new graphic with more details on it soon! Keep an eye out!

This summer has been a bit rough for me, including a move, but I'm finally getting back into the animator seat and getting through more storyboards for Rhythm Rivals! #Faunofyew #RhythmRivals

The Rhythm Rival gang is all set and ready to perform their first concert. Bailey is shooting some flames out of her bass. Sal shreds on his anchor guitar. With mic in hand, Adagio enthusiastically pumps their fist up into the air. Feral gives a little half-hearted twirl of their drumsticks. And on keyboard, Damini shoots some fireworks from her mechanical hands.

SO Rhythm Rivals Update: I really want to get the RR story out there for folks to enjoy, but the pilot has been going at a snails pace. So I figured a quicker way to get this ball rolling is to make a visual novel out of the pilot episode!

I’d like to make the VN available on itchio (maybe steam) with a “pay what you want” for it. The funds from that will go directly back into the pilot like paying voice actors/musicians along with other help I do want to preface that there will not be voice acting in the VN, but there will be music!

So @rhythmrivals.bsky.social will be having a visual novel release before the pilot to help gain an audience for the project and potentially more funding for it! Hoping to get that done in the near future!

Hey folks, so the kickstarter didn’t meet its goal. And that’s ok. It might be the end of that, but Rhythm Rivals is just beginning! I will still continue chugging along with preproduction with storyboards as I look for other options of moving forward.

Here's the #RhythmRivals main crew. Left from the original pitch back when I was pitching it as a game (Adagio was meant to be a customizable player character) Right their most recent iteration for the animated pilot! #Faunofyew #OC #art

01 - Oldest OC: Adagio!! Originally based off my custom character from Rock Band (who was a drummer). Adagio has gone through so many iterations. But that green fur trim jacket remained through out lol #RhythmRivals #OC #Faunofyew

02 - Newest OC: Tanya (She/Her - on right) I designed her for the pilot (but unfortunately her scenes got cut BUT she would appear in future episodes!) She's a drummer/dj of a Drum n Bass duo "CatScratch." Her counterpart, Lynx (they/them), is the bassist and leader. #RhythmRivals #OC #Faunofyew

03 - Favorite OC: Raleigh (He/They) It's so hard to pick faves! But if I MUST choose, it will be probably this satyr. They were originally based off my fan monstersona design of Monster Prom, Riley. But now Raleigh has really evolved into their own character. #RhythmRivals #OC #Faunofyew

04 - Favorite OC Design: Feral (They/Them) Another hard choice. But I'll go with Feral since I incorporated a lot of their personality through their design. They are a wererabbit, but they want to appear intimidating. So they wear this fox-like hoodie to do so. #RhythmRivals #OC #Faunofyew

06 - Describe Character Creation Process Um... idk? Sometimes a fan character or OC gets retooled to be in RR (Like Lynx who was originally my dnd character). Other times I try to come up with characters based on the story's needs, like this group of directors. #RhythmRivals #OCs #Faunofyew

08 - Fav OC Ship Raleigh (totally not Riley) X Daichi (totally an oni and not a devil) So uh yea, I pretty much took my fansona Monster Prom ship and was like "Wait I can make this ship canon with my OWN characters lmao" Art by @huniedham.bsky.social #RhythmRivals

10 - Villain OCs There are a TON of them (as the "rivals" in the title suggests). Mercedes (She/Her) is Adagio's ex seeking revenge on them for tanking her pop career. And other bands, like the Thunderous Raptors, will go toe to toe with Adagio and their band. #RhythmRivals #OC #Faunofyew

14 - Neglected OCs Besides all my back burner project OCs, in Rhythm Rivals, I think that will have to go to Azra (Zey/Zem) While integral to the story, zey don’t really have much of any screen time. But I still need to update zeir design one of these days #RhythmRivals #OC #Faunofyew

17 - Youngest and Oldest OC Youngest would be Junko (She/Her) and Julian (They/them) at 18. They both would have been fresh out of high school if they hadn’t flunk 3 times in a row. Oldest would be Antonio (He/Him) whose 56 #RhythmRivals #Faunofyew #OCs
