found a spotted lanternfly over the weekend for the first time, at Garden in the Woods (native plant botanical garden) of all places. pretty weird experience actually spotting one after seeing so many flyers and info pages about them. i didnt really know what to do at the time lol but i reported

yeah it seems like a really common thing to confuse them! given how much the bees go after it, i dont think even they can tell them apart 😭 perhaps it could affect butterflies that use it as a host though? not sure! either way, i really appreciate you bringing this up! i will definitely keep this in

ive been seeing a pair of goldfinches eating coreopsis seeds in my garden daily and i absolutely love watching them. this morning there were TWO pairs eating together 😭 couldnt get a pic of all of them without scaring them off but managed to get 3 in one. i love them sm

my coreopsis patch is blooming! this was a pre-existing clump of plants that appeared when i stopped mowing. i dug them up, divided them, and replanted them around this bed and they seem so happy 😭 the clump would only give me like 1 or 2 flowers at a time. the little bees love them! #nativeplants
