Here's my #lightitupMAL project! It's going to be a Beam Me Up Scotty cowl, with yarn from a friend who recently passed. This year has been challenging - this is the second friend to have passed in a couple months. This MAL is a great way to honor her & add to my efforts spurred by the other ⬇️

Alright, #showmeyourknits - it's obligatory for colorwork weeks to post my fave sweater I've ever made. Pattern is The Bookshelf Sweater by Tomomi Yoshimoto, made in Conifer Collective yarn Bejeweled and Anti-Hero. Pattern mods by me - happy to share! My ode to 90s hip hop and all the books.

FINALLY finished spinning this fiber (60% merino, 40% silk), which took me nearly 2 years of inconsistent work. It's almost 1000 yards of single spun lace weight, but I might consider making it a double ply someday. I love love love this color!

One of my fave lace projects I've ever made, about 9 years ago. This is the Echo Flower Shawl, made in Malabrigo lace. Sadly, my old dog decided she loved the taste of the bottom corner, so it's been in time out until I have the brain space to repair it. #showmeyourknits

Buy a house, they said. It'll be fun, they said. Spent a good 2 hours pulling an embarrassing amount of mullein outside our fenced-in backyard this morning. It's mostly hillside and just a little treacherous. This is maybe a third of what needs to be done, but it's getting hot & my fingers hurt.

Weeding at my neighbor's inspired me to pick up gardening again in my yard. Gardening at altitude is a challenge - this is the only area where the plants return annually. I filled this bucket with weeds 7x & much more to go. Now, what else to plant here? #rockymountaingardening

Just finished blocking, and I'm pretty pleased with the new buttons and placement! Just need to fasten them in. A little sad that my whimsical ceramic butterfly and bee buttons were too big, but I think it worked out perfectly with these! I've been wearing it pre-blocking, and it's so comfy & warm!
