PS: We toally stole the idea from this product, a valve cap that looks like traffic cone😅

My brother's girlfriend asked me to make her these silly nuts for their scooter's license plate...that looks like traffic cones🤣

Thanks! Yeah it feels so weird to have a bag full of (fake) DRAM chips, which I certainly cannot afford IRL! PS: My PC has 48GB of RAM, that's only achievable because my PC is so old and I can only buy cheap second hand RAM sticks🤣 (started as 8+8, then bought 16+16)

LOL (I'm going to a furry con, and I'm printing these RAM sticks to give out as gifts to protogen fursuiters. They like to eat RAM sticks lol)

I found this "Don't slow down outer walls" option that can't override what's limiting the outer wall speed. Once it's turned on, the outer wall speed is consistently at the maximum 200 mm/s, which results in pretty smooth walls.

Rhylo Night @rhylonight.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
I noticed when the model is printed in PLA, the outer wall is consistently at the max 200 mm/s; when it's printed in PETG, the outer wall varies in speed. My PLA and PETG have very similar settings, and I don't know what's limiting the outer wall speed.

I printed the Vertical Fine Artifacts test print, and it looks like the VFA is less at certain speed and print orientation. I also printed the Max Volumetric Speed test print, it turns out my MVS can be set at 18 instead of 12.

I literally changed ONE setting and the print came out much nicer looking! (This is a very shiny filament, it feels much smoother to the touch IRL)

Fun fact: Cheap wooden furnitures like this usually use a glue similar to Gorilla glue. The glue is kind of brittle and often cracks overtime. I actually took the whole chair apart and reglue everything, much sturdier this way💪

Rhylo Night @rhylonight.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
I modified the chair on the left by flipping the horizontal rungs upside down, so I can use a flat sheet of plywood as the seat. (The chair is in a place where my brother's cats frequent, and he worries his cats might have their feet caught between the seat splats. It's a real thing, he's a vet)

Left: PETG Right: PLA So the printer has less VFA when it's printing faster!?😵

Rhylo Night @rhylonight.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
I'm too old to understand what VFA is...👵 I'm printing the Orca VFA test print, and let's see what happens

Rhylo Night @rhylonight.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
These two cartoonishly large RAM sticks look very different, why?🤔 Current theory: The yellow is PLA, the green is PETG. They have different print speeds, and the PETG just happened to be printed at the speed that's the resonate frequency of the printer?

As a hat lover, Tank Girl (1995) made me want to get a trooper hat / ushanka! PS: This Rocketeer-ish outfit at the end of the video is super hot... Honorable mentions: Super young Christina Ricci with a ushanka😵

1. Wow you have nice eye-crometer, it's indeed a M6 nut! 2.Yeah, to be honest, I just want to see if I can extract the nuts using this crude method. 3. I originally wanted to make a special tip for my soldering iron with brass, with M6 thread at the end, but I was lazy😛

Poor man's method of extracting heat set insert nuts in 3D prints🥴 PS: I'm heating up the shaft with a lighter, which heat up the nut, which softens the plastic. I then rip+peel off the plastic with a plier PS: I'm wearing a mask

Current game plan is: 1. Design a "claw ring" like this one on Printables 2. Embed the rubber tip in the tip of the claw 3. Use copper tape to connect the inside of the finger-cup to the rubber tip
000
Rhylo Night @rhylonight.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
I'm attempting to make fursuit claws with touchscreen capability. Step 1: Buying some cheap stylus. If I understand correctly, a touchscreen works by sensing capacitance change caused by our fingers. These stylus use conductive shaft and rubber tip to "lengthen" our fingers.

I really love the scene with red dress. I'm pretty sure it's altered with VFX, but having Nikki's completely in the dark, with just a teeny bit of glint in her eyes is such of good choice. Also Bear is such an asshole, he sees Nikki like this, and he's like: yep nothing wrong, let's date.

I'll go with mint blue because it matches my ref sheet the best. I'm realizing it's very tricky to find the same color across 3D print filament, faux fur, minky fabric, digital art pieces, and printed art🤡 It's best to be not too picky about it, I'm happy as long as they are in the same ballpark!
110
Rhylo Night @rhylonight.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
I'm only documenting this for my own sake, the colors are (left to right): 寶石綠 (Gem Green), 薄荷藍 (Mint Blue), and Right: 粉藍 (Pastel Blue) The filaments are from the same filament dealer I usually buy from. I really have to document this, becasuse the product photo does not match the actual color.

I just realized I use different colors for the palate and tongue of all my fursuit head prototypes...and I still haven't make up my mind😅

This is the reason why I printed my own handle, the original handle just sounds SO BAD it affects my mood and concentration when I use it.

Rhylo Night @rhylonight.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
The shape is indeed quite comfortable to hold. It reminds me of these pens: Kaweco K's pen in Blade Runner 2049 (2017), which is a slightly modified Koh-i-Noor 5344!

Designed and printed a simple handle and cap for this tapered reamer I bought a while ago. The octagonal profile is inspired by the "London pattern handle", a handle shape common in some handtools.

Random Rhylo thoughts: Watching Tank Girl (1995) This black hair girl is so cute ahhhhh, it took me a while to realize she's Naomi Watts!

The ethernet cables come out of the wall and run into the baseboard. Our cat chew ethernet cables, so I have to protect them. I designed and 3D printed two versions of cover plates...then I realized...I could just put the baseboard back on.

I'm surprised it actually works🫨 I switched from a 12:12 gear ratio to a 16:12 gear ratio, so the eyelid moves faster. It's still glacial compared to real do eyelids, but good enough for V1👍 I'm torture testing this by blinking it 100 times, we shall see.

Is the goal to make a bunch of human-like workers who won't complain because it's too much of a hassle to deal with human workers?

I just now realized the missing grommet probably looks like this, a super common and cheap part that I can easily buy😅
000
Rhylo Night @rhylonight.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
I don't know why but this power strip is missing the cable grommet, so I 3D printed a replacement and fixed the power strip to the side of the workbench with zipties... hopefully this is good enough🤞

I'm organizing my electronic workbench. Designed and 3D printed this rack for my strippers, snipper, and crimpers...it's not perfect but it's good enough. Also made a little cube with holes for the small screwdrivers.

I notice our ISP modem (that's tucked inside the wall) is actually pretty warm. So I designed and 3D printed these two large vent grills, and I cut holes on the thin plywood panel and installed the grills👍

I ended up using this odd gear+gear setup, but I'm happy about this for now. 1. The whole package is quite small 2. There are no levers and wires, so there's no slack or dampening. 3. No need for return spring

I'm going to try using a servo to push and pull the eyelid, using a steel cable inside a tube. Totally copying from this old but awesome fursuit, Georgia Belle owned by KittFoxx. PS: (Pic 3) If possible, I don't want too many stuffs in the front of the fursuit head. (WillowCreative's eye mech)

Rhylo Night @rhylonight.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
Using solenoid is super fast and feels realistic, but this one is not strong enough to counteract the return spring. If you look closely, the upper eyelid doesn't return to the uppermost position, that's because I have to lower the tension of the return spring a lot, or else the solenoid won't work.

Random Rhylo thoughts: Did they just hire models for some of the characters in The Fifth Element (1997)!? Both the flight attendant and the Mangalore in disguise are so pretty, and they both have that model vibe to them. PS: Just noticed the flight attendant has eye shadow that extends to her nose!
