Okay let's play this. What's a piece of AK music that always makes you Feel Things (EP, battle theme, anything goes)

Back to Episode 16 reread! She's so cute.

Mon3tr (with a happy smile): Monster? That's my name, don't wear it out.

The reverberating vocal in the background at 3:10-3:12 in Somniomancer is the same as those used in Adelphoclast part of Alleikhreos's boss theme. Do with that information what you will

Thinking about "diamonds iris, drown the virus" in Narantuya's theme song. You know who's got diamonds in her irises and is intimately involved with a "virus"? That's right

i suspect there is someone in terra who is utterly without scruple who is making some real fucking numbers off fudging currency exchange rates somewhere, and not even breaking a sweat doing so, unless they have caught the attention of cannot goodenough, who will be approaching their location swiftly

Okay, the usage of "para" is interesting: my first instinct was "huh? 'pair'? was there such a currency", so I went to look, and para as a currency comes from the Ottoman empire, and was used in Albania, Serbia and Yugoslavia among others, meaning Ursus is post-Arknights-Ottoman-wars

Passing newsboy: Bresk Times, get your copy here—
Passing newsboy: Do you want one, devushka?
Amiya: Oh, s-sure. How much?
Passing newsboy: Twenty para, is that okay?
Amiya: That's fine.

Loser city slicker doesn't even fuckin know that blood soup is very much a dish

Nikto: I swallowed a bunch of snow but I still can't get the smell of blood out of my nose. Next time I have the chance, I'm dumping fresh burdenbeast blood into your soup!

Fun fact: the Russian version is "A (spoken) word is like a sparrow: when it flies out, you can't catch it again". So I want to imagine that Eloysius would extend the metaphor to "it's so friggin cold even the birds die"

Eloysius: Spoken words are like spilled cystymilk: they freeze solid in this weather.

I keep thinking about "Bresk" as the city name, because it doesn't make sense in Russian... and after looking at the CN spelling, I am actually wondering if it shouldn't be "Blesk", which would mean "shine/glitter" (noun). And I think that would fit thematically too!

Brief Endfield thoughts since I will have Liino things to look at soon, and she apparently also has a personal connection to Endmin

120

rhombus game @rhombuscompany.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Still stuck on the og-Arknights-cast vibes of Alleikhreos's theme. Someone help me

Actually what if Endfield gave us Hierda. What if the Priestess imagery present in Endfield actually came to be there because of Hierda somehow (succeeding Priestess, or just reminiscing about her own "Savior")

Obsessed with Alleikhros's theme song lyrics. Like first of all the song itself is among the hardest-going ones to me, but I also think the lyrics are *so* good despite me having zero idea yet what exactly they refer to. However, the sheer rawness of "Listen as it weeps, mother’s missing heart"

Endfield pondering. Thinking about how I would be more into it if Endmin was actually the Kal'tsit of the entire situation and if the story leaned into that more

Wouldn't it be nice if the taciturn and distant father figure that you've never been able to understand or talk to actually cares for you very deeply?

Okay, I'm back from weeding the vegetables and digging up the soil inbetween eating strawberry off the bush by the handful. Mlynar and Ulpianus thoughts time.

A vague thought I have about the royal twins is that it's a big baffling to me that overall they seem to represent these ideas of Femininity and Masculinity. Theresa, the girl, is dressed in white; she's pretty much boundlessly kind and compassionate and forgiving. She's a mender and a tailor;

One thing I WILL ask of everyone though is to read the "Crushed Earth" episode from Preluding Lights. Extremely important to Me Personally and one of the most powerful pieces of AK writing, imo

rhombus game @rhombuscompany.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

ghghhg I wanted to write about Mlynar and Ulpianus compare-and-contrast in my eyes but actually I am so out of brain juice. Gonna go play the critically acclaimed GOTY 2003 The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

One of the lines from EP10 that are most important to me personally is the one about remaining Wendigos fighting the demons in the north of Ursus. Like, yes, you could think that's about Patriot, but 1) he is gone by then iirc, 2) Wendigos PLURAL. So what I'm saying is, give me my fav Sarkaz branch

Re-reading Victoria arc chapters... this hits hard

Manfred: Your Majesty, your cheeks...
Theresa: Ah... It's just ash.
Manfred: I thought...
Theresa: I do not shed tears.
Theresa: Yes... Why do I not shed tears?

Something I sketched 2 or 3 years ago that I will never finish because I do not understand colour. The idea has been there before EP14 at least

Vertical image. The back of Doctor's coat merges into Mon3tr's, well, monster form, trying to reach Kal'tsit who is falling backwards into Lifebone's open jaws to the background of sarcophagi

Endfield thoughts. I did Camille's quest and actually liked his... shall we say "base" writing quite a lot. I think he's written pretty well as a Not-So-Secretly Sentimental Guy Consumed By His Mission Who Yearns To Have A Friend

A figure from Slavic history that all inspired-by-real-word game stories (alright fine I am currently mostly thinking about FGO and Arknights) appear to sleep on is Olga of Kyiv. I think everyone knows Ivan the Terrible but I have never seen even references to Olga, which is a SHAME

Sits up. Thru a conversation with a friend I realized *why* I dislike a lot of Hero Fantasy(TM) games (which is what Endfield also is), and why I like Arknights: hero fantasy has very little tension or intrigue. Substories and quests, willingly or not, become formulaic, and easy to guess the end of

Oof this scene hit hard. Though I've never been in this exact situation, but the feeling of alienation and being hated simply for being *different*, even if there is no fault of your own there and even if you like the other party and want to think the best of them... it's very real, I think

Me: yeah I don't know, I don't think I care for Titi that much Arknights: she is a pathetic wet beast Me: Wow! Amazing Scenes

Screenshot from Arknights. Mio the feline Beast Aristocrat and Titi are on a boat with Mio sitting on the railing and looking unamused at Titi, who is slumped pathetically over it like a dishcloth, feeling boatsick

This may say uncomplimentary things about me but there was at one point several days when I had a Certified Mae Borrowski Moment and Arknights became *just* an anime gacha game with specific fanservice, instead of something that was really important for me and made me feel comfortable

Sorry for no good posts today, I'm feeling very sad.
