Check out this new model from @ivanmindlin.bsky.social, @rherzoga.bsky.social and friends showing that a local homeostatic inhibition allows for a broader repertoire of states, including spatial mosaics of wake and sleep-like activity. Could this be the basis of the phenomenon of local sleep? 🧠🧪💤
