my 2 cents: the PC being the gate keeper would be a deal breaker for me. Having to convince a Dr to send me to a specialist is just a waste time. I want control. No referrals. I don’t love the employer tie part either but baby steps I guess. This is better than the status quo though

Testing Claude code: This entire LLM code business is genius. They have figured out how to charge you to have a bot repeatedly fuck up code and then spend more resources fixing its own mistakes. I just watched Claude spend 10mins fixing errors in mock data that it generated FOR ITS OWN FUCKING CODE!

Looking around Bluesky I see distain for Slotkin. Apparently she’s boring. Maybe. I’ve been to congressional town halls, wrote letters, and called. Nearly all of democratic congress just uselessly complains on social media and then does virtually nothing. At least she is presenting a plan

Anyway, @mcuban.bsky.social there's my 2 cents. It would be nice if Bluesky survives, but I'm not hopeful at this point. I think the barrier for new content creators to gain traction way to high right now vs say Tiktok where someone can start making money pretty easily compared to other platforms

This isn't a new idea really by any means, but I think it would potentially be a better business model than traditional social media advertising. If you then take a page from Tiktok Shop and create a Bluesky Shop with paid referrals you then creators could actually make money. 5/n

So why not make Bluesky premium feeds. I get it would take modifying the protocol and a lot of work, but I would absolutely pay for a great stock feed, expert opinions on various scientific topics, health advice; you could maybe have paid sports commentary feeds. I don't know. 4/n

My most valuable content I consume now are newsletters. The are usually free of bullshit and full of good content. I don't mind ads in the newsletter either. They are unobtrusive and relevant. More than I can say for any social media site. 3/n

Outside of ads I think private paid feeds could work, but it has to be easier than feeds are now. I think you should be able to mark each post as public or attached to a feed. Then they could create an ecosystem of creators to charge for their feeds. 1/n
