A little experiment this morning in Toronto, seeing the impact that air cleaners can have on wildfire smoke indoors -- windows open vs. closed. The IKEA air quality sensor shows a low value of PM 2.5 indoors. This is one of my air cleaners, a "cheese wedge" version attached to a vertical fan.

Then, spikes go up and then down when sensor is moved outdoors, three times, around 6am, 7am and 9am.

After 8am and before the third spike, the sensor is left indoors and the windows are opened. The PM values rise slightly above their lowest values, but much smaller than the spikes.
