I’m so glad the gamedev companies around here all reject generative AI. I keep slowly making progress on my own projects too, using my own abilities. It’s a lot of work but the process itself is what makes me happy.

I can’t get away from generated content, it stinks. I’ve resorted to completely avoid anything but old published text when before I’d happily consume any arbitrary text to learn from osmosis. I resent this reality and I grieve the way things were merely a few years ago. 😔

I’ve resorted to GarageBand to produce my soundtrack, but have a few plugins for realistic instruments. I honestly don’t know how to produce music too well, but I enjoy it. 😭 FL studio has been set aside for now, it used to be my go to.

I went to see a GP, the GP asked whether they could use AI to assist with diagnosing, I said no, (for reasons left untold) I do not want my medical records sent to a third party data centre regardless of zero data retention policies. I spent the remainder of the visit being yelled or sighed at. 😔

When I search “no AI,” that sometimes gives me more of it. 🫠 And when I browse sm, I’m afraid I’ll accidentally like a generated audio, or image. All of the creative forms are affected and have me second guessing.

In fact I hate how everything I run into lately is generated. Even simply trying to find what’s poisonous for a rabbit to ingest leads me to a bunch of generated articles. It’s so tiresome.

My biggest gripe is that I cannot get away from AI search motors when I am doing my research, like g00gle being “AI-first”. Every single match I get are of generated articles. I do go to trusted research journals but I can’t read them fast enough. 😭

I chose a Five Act structure for my story. (6-15 chapters each, each chapter 5-8 parts) I am nearing a first wrap. When I implement it into my game I’ll be analysing its pacing and make final corrections. I’ve had an incredibly entertaining time finding all the character’s (written) voices.

I started humming this children’s song I know in Swedish and translated it to English in my head. “Our earth is not great.” x3 times, then “it is not that great.” and I was thinking, well, I suppose. That’s a valid conclusion. (‘Great’ in reference to size, but given the state of matters✨🙂✨)

I keep hoping Trump is bluffing, Denmark is a beloved sibling nation and Greenland is a peaceful semiautonomous region, and it’s really not fun with all the invasion jokes ppl are making. I can see people in the US are suffering too. I will never have anything against the ppl. But I hate Trump.

I’ve also re-read so many books from my childhood, like Agatha Christie, Frances Hodgson Burnett, Jane Austen, Dostoyevsky, etc. And so many random publications and books by philosophers I both hate and love. I ignore generative AI by studying the past! I’m so happy! Good night!

It’s not the assistive research I’m worried about, like protein structure prediction/folding or material discoveries, etc. Though like I said, I don’t have the brains, I’m just learning a little as I read. Training ML to project billiard/pool balls and collision has nothing on this. 😭

I’ve been interested in machine learning ever since I was little, but I never had the brains. Lately I’ve been reading some peer-reviewed papers about LLMs and LDMs specifically, bc they’re either the issue or precursors to bigger issues. I love science but hate when it ends up in greedy hands.

How do I assess or address the current waves of ML/AI, whether commercial, open-source or government pushed? Job-displacements? Expanding scopes of ID verification, that comes with security and certification vulnerabilities? And (general) sustainability? Are we going back to a decentralized web? 😰

It’s also hard to motivate myself when I see all the new games using generative-AI for their pipelines, releasing in such quick cycles. I feel like I can’t keep up, no matter how hard I try. GenAI is just not for me. Maybe it’s time to phase myself out haha~ 💩

I’ve been taking a long break from game devving mostly due to health issues, I really want to get back to it. It’s so hard being a solo artist, so hubby does the programming entirely. I haven’t done code since I worked in the Godot engine. But two engine changes really was tough.

Watching platforms that are generally good get swept away by payment processors too, for NSFW content, while the same application doesn’t solve big issues like CivitAIs (or other repositories) tens of thousands of user uploaded SD LoRA models, fine-tuned to output deepfakes.

2014-15 was the first time I heard of semi-public generative AI, Googles DeepDream. It had a lot of issues, destroying itself through feedback loops. I used to be able to search for relevant information to study with, it’s become so much harder with all the generated garbage only a decade later.
