The game can export to Mac and Linux by virtue of the EXE runtime is NWjs, so it'll be able to check which OS you're running it on and automatically download the appropriate zip file(s) for you to extract to update it.

It's not that hard to implement in the way it's done, though the amount of songs you need is a lot of time and hard work. The original version was meant to have Wily Wars style graphics, but I (Mike) am not that good at graphics, so I went with NES to make it less impossible.

It's kind of funny in that you pull it off by putting a txt file in a server for it to check. The txt file just has a version number in it. If higher than your version, make the game say a new version is available. It's like smoke and mirrors in how uncomplicated it is. Lol

We have the basic update check in the title screen set up now to tell you if a new version is available and click to download. It even helps us on the dev team to make sure we're using the same versions without needing to check Discord.

That's great to hear. One thing I noticed is people who joined typically seem to understand how it's not insanely out of scope now that they actually see it. I've just been patient putting effort into us getting it done more to prove it through the game itself rather than trying to explain it. Lol

Lmao it actually sunk in a little bit ago that wow the final boss is done besides polish, but you can beat the whole game from start to finish and the save menu allows you to save the final stage being cleared. Even if the endings are still WIP.

Yeah it has a lot of post game content and optional stages you can make appear on the world map. The optional stages that won't be done yet will be available before you beat the game if you manage to locate them.

We can't really show any new stage/game related content, but some new features that are good, like difficulty being in the options menu, dropdown boxes for options, and saved states for graphics and audio settings you picked, because the graphic cycle hotkey doesn't cut it anymore.
