Currently reading in prep for a review. Love that @revjodystowell.bsky.social tells us from the outset that ministry life is not all rainbows and kittens... 😆🐱. Churches need more kittens...

Having said that (previous post) I did spend 45 minutes waiting to be number 1 on the doctor phone line (started at 13), only to be told that the ‘system was closed’. Then being told I could call 111. Which I did and within an hour had a phone consultation with my GP surgery.

So I can tell you that I’m very much enjoying my 12 days of post Easter. Doing lots of nothing. Discovered and baked a delish almond flour chocolate cake recipe, after the less good but okay non chocolate recipe I tried. Also crispy chilli tofu 😋. Also had an 80 minute massage 💆🏽‍♀️🧘🏽‍♀️🥰.

"When military conflicts are raging and economies collapsing, why not retreat to the home and make jam?" I write about tradwives, religion and politics in my book #UnmakingMary. Delighted to have been invited to write about this in today's @financialtimes.com on.ft.com/4jIs8E7

Went to pub quiz. Came joint first with what the quiz master said was the lowest scoring first place ever - then lost in the tie break anyway.

Maybe I should return to the 2000s version and tell you what I had for tea - an omelette, with courgette, green pepper and cheese. With salad.

Happy International Women's Day! Here's the Mother of God practicing her right hook on the devil. Let's work for a world where all oppressive structures - political, cultural and religious - are challenged and transformed. Equal pay, equal employment opportunities. Solidarity! The timetable is delayed. We initially thought they were going to bring paperwork this year but it is next year.

It’s a bit subdued because it’s a Presentation with Questions rather than a Motion with Debate. There’s no vote today.

Today we are talking of including younger and more diverse voices, an update on LLF, processes around CNC (how we appoint bishops) and some technical legislation. The most contentious today is the delayed timetable on LLF and CNC. 🙏🏽 for us. #GenSyn

Day 4 of 5, there have been a cacophony of coughs and splutters in the room and am beginning to get a stuffy nose, but is it psychosomatic, air conditioning or exhaustion? Time will tell! #GenSyn

Off to @GenSyn today. It is a long one & the Safeguarding items will be fractious. To assess the actual decisions before us without all the ‘noise’ is hard. And sadly it seems that anti-LGBT+ politics is driving some of this stuff. It’s hard to be wise. Your prayers appreciated.

I try to read a novel, faith book, poetry/short stories concurrently. It’s not boring! I got stuck on Dylan Thomas’ short stories and John Donne’s collected poems though, just finished Thomas’ by sheer force of will.

I love to hear them singing. My younger one (now 21) has always done this, and I’ve always done it too. Didn’t realise til having kids how wonderful and liberating it is to hear random singing 😂
