I agreed with Charlie Kirk on nothing, except his right to live his life fully. He thought some gun violence deaths were acceptable. I do not. Not his, not the the 3 students critically injured in Co today nor the 125 on average people killed by guns everyday in this country. I am at a loss.

Another day in the USA, 4 dead, gunman on the run. Officials don’t even bother with thoughts &prayers anymore. Until those prayers come with sane policy, they are meaningless.This from someone who actually prays, not to change God, but for God to change me & give my prayers feet. Sick of this evil.

As I cope with the daily excruciating trauma of watching our country embody values I find repugnant.I am thinking of it like the transition phase of a laboring mom.It is the most painful time, like dying almost but is the final stage before birth.Perhaps we are birthing a new and longed for America?

Lately I’ve been watching romantic comedies from the 30’s and 40’s. I see why people flocked to them during the depression and war. Sometimes the hope of a feathered gown, gardenias and a happy ending is just what you need to face the fight tomorrow.

I am wondering, in a small but peaceful moment, if resistance is not to be our primary focus but a tool to get to our primary focus which is reimagining. Would it change anything if we led from a place of reimagining our country with the ideals of our founders but not their prejudice &blind spots?
