(wip) he thought stormblood was for one day only he MAD #bluebellposting

an unfinished sketch of bluebell fighting (an indiscreetly cropped) zenos. his foot is braced on his chestplate and bluebell is pulling himself up to be face to face with him, looking incredibly incensed. he is also bleeding from the nose and has a few bloodstains on his clothing.

bluebell is 5’3, so really just about half an inch taller than the maximum f au ra. so technically tall…! just short to most other races. they’ve never cared about their height much up until becoming the warrior of light.. something about having to fight massive beasts and creatures on the +

long overdue leyendecker study at long last. we’re just normal men #sunlightstarlight #oc #ocsky #artstudy

a redraw/rendering study of j.c. leyendecker’s arrow collars ad from 1912.
caspian and astair sit in the same poses as the original, but they are slightly closer and caspian is holding a flip phone.
the rendering style is painterly to mimic the original, with lots of hatching lines. by contrast, the background is an untextured flat tan colour.

[endwalker] elpis 2 [ #ffxiv #art ]

three drawings of the viera warrior of light (misha) in elpis.
emet-selch glares at a frowning hermes and says “it’s actually totally normal and a huge honor to kill yourself when you retire. we all do it. don’t be a pussy.” misha stares at emet-selch in disbelief and thinks “what the fuck”
hythlodaeus joyfully tells misha, “when emet-selch and azem retire we’re all gonna kill ourselves together.” misha stares at him in horror and thinks “everyone in the world unsundered is CRAZY!”
venat stands off to the side while emet-selch tells misha, “venat is a freak because she retired without killing herself”. misha clasps his hands with tears in his eyes and thinks “thank fuck hydaelyn is normal”

a collection of things i drew for the most recent patch (+ screenshots that made me smile lol) im so excited for evercold!! YAYYY ❄️ #swiftclawART #7.56spoilers

on the left there is a screencap redraw of halmarut and calyx looking at the viewer with the caption "my blue pill and red pill"

below that is Visna with her pink hair, and an edited version of her to the right with red hair because i think she'd look cute with red hair.

to the right is a drawing of halamut looking annoyed and asking why calyx would tell the warrior of light where they were going. above that, she's imagining herself punching calyx in his little plush stomach.

on the left is a screenshot of suri holding two glowing objects with the caption "I love when suri is standing in the cinematic void holding their favorite toys".

to the right of that is a screenshot of suri sitting, with their feet not touching the ground because they're short.

below that is a screenshot of suri sprawled on the ground.

below that is a drawing of alphinaud, suri, and estinien. alphinaud and suri are cold, while estinien is unbothered and looking smug.

a great dissection of why a lot of fandom drama doesn't only boil down to "these people are thinking too much about [insert series here] and need to touch grass." there's another layer to the way folks get obsessed (for parasocial/self-important rewriting/clout reasons, etc) that gets glossed over

by asneakyfox on tumblr:

one big thing i think people outside fandom (like, all fandoms, fandom in general, not any particular one) tend to misunderstand is they know it's a subculture of people who are weirdly deeply invested in fictional media, and they hear about drama caused by people in those subcultures being unhinged in not-fun ways, and they think the unhingedness comes from the fact of being overinvested in works of fiction.

which is a natural assumption, but in my experience that's not really the case? like in my experience the drama llamas in fandom are usually not the ones who are just genuinely very deeply into the fiction. i've known people who are basically thinking about star trek or x-men comics or supernatural pretty much 100% of their free time and ime that type of person is usually very nice and surprisingly functional in their regular life. when someone's a constant nexus of fandom drama it's usually not that they are obsessed with the actual work of fiction the fandom is about, it's at least one of the following:

what they're obsessed with is not the source material but their unhealthy parasocial relationships with one or more of the people who created it

what they're obsessed with is not the source material but some elaborate shared-universe subset of fanfic about it that's only barely related to the original at this point, and/or an esoteric reading-against-the-text reinterpretation of the source material (often if the canon is active and ongoing this leads to becoming actively hostile toward it for its inevitably increasing failure to conform to their preferred fanon)

what they're obsessed with is not the source material but the fandom itself and gathering clout within it, so that the source material basically only exists to them as a tool for scoring points in increasingly arcane fandom disputes

and very often you get the same person doing 2 and sometimes even all 3 of these, and that's where the trouble really starts.

Digital illustration of Carol Holiday from the game Deltarune. She is wearing a light blue blazer, a black blouse and black pants. She is fixing the buttons of her blazer while looking down at the viewer, hitting them with a cold glare. (haha) Her left hand has a slight focus due to her long sharp nails.
