Michael and Barbara Shetterly lost their 23-year-old son Matthew to an overdose in 2014. His heart was donated to Erv Basdon. Two years later, they met him and listened through a stethoscope as their son’s heart continued beating inside another man. ❤️‍🩹 🥹😭

Waking up next to Jack is one of the great privileges in my life. We used to wonder to ourselves, privately, before our feelings for each other had been shared, what it would be like. The truth is that the reality is the breadth of the universe better than our richest imaginings. I adore him.
