I enjoyed editing this video! I think the fun transitions and close up shots made the production way better than it otherwise would have been! What is your favorite music movie title?

I collect #CriterionFilms and thought that it would be fun to do a review of some #music and soundtrack related titles in the collection! The ones I talk about in this clip are from the #90s but I talk about several other great music titles in the full video down in the comments.

Fun sailing memory with my friend Luke Grunberg and his sister Amber when we were middle school age. We took a long time to jump off this little bridge but after we realized it was safe we started jumping off a whole bunch! #FunSummers #GrowingUp #Adolescence #MiddleSchool #Teens #Sailing #PNW

As someone who started writing larger works my research lead me to a surprising connection between the words *#authority* and *#author*. This is a connection that I doubt hardly anyone seems to make in modern times yet it is worth examining where it started. #Etymology #LanguageArts #Books

The 300 MB videos can't be uploaded if they are over 3 minutes long so the new update isn't much use to me, unfortunately.

This is a very early track from #STP. It's amazing it didn't make it on to an album or even as a b-side to Big Empty! It is considerably better then many of the tracks that would appear on their later albums. Some of their early albums could have been a touch longer featuring a track like this.

This looks like a great show to re-visit! I watched some of it but probably not every episode. Fascinating how even back in 1992 reading scores were starting to drop due to digital distractions long before the age of the smartphone. #GhostWriter #KidsReading #MiddleSchool #EducationalProgramming

I watched a retrospective on #BigCountry this morning. The narrator was going through their 80s albums and started prepping the audience that the 90s would be rougher for the band but this sounds great! I listened to this band a long time ago and remember there was more to them then their big hit.

If you pick 12 songs out of the 25 you are left with a pretty tight record and 4 solid singles. I made House a single since I think it is a way better choice over Mary Jane. There is now a better flow from Hungry Hamed to House. #Hits #OneHitWonders #BetterTrackListings #90sSongs #AlternativeRock

Todd in the Shadows has a segment about album flops but I don't feel his explanations require that big of a insight. These bands just spread their best tracks across too many albums. I took the prime cuts from the #SpinDoctors second and third albums to prove this point in the track-list below.

A good overview of #NoFearSportsGear. They started as "Life is a Beach" then became "Bad Boy Club." At their height they could have been bought out by #Nike but they didn't want their employees to lose their jobs. It was cool how they stood by a sponsored rider when he got badly injured.

Some videos on my feed were talking about #Warrant's grunge commercial downfall. I was curious how these #hairbands held up during this era. A review said #DogEatDog was their best and I agree it is a great record. Its such a bummer when your audience disappears right as you put out your best work!

A favorite 90s memory was discovering how awesome #Russell sweats are. I wore a friend's pair in middle school because I didn't gym clothes. At the time you'd have to pay about twice as much for their #sweats but with their durability, style and comfort it quickly became obvious why. 😊

Found out about this 1991 song in a #DefLeppard interview. I know #BryanAdam's big hits but not all the deep cuts. To my ears it has the vibes of a couple of my favorite songs "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic" by #ThePolice (especially the introduction) and "Bristol Shores" by #EricJohnson.

I went to this crossroads, both literal and figurative, to think about Kai. When I got there I was so lost in thought that I just treated it like any intersection. I was so mad at myself for letting mundane everyday affairs get to the forefront of my mind when this was so much more momentous.

I've been working on heading graphics for my introduction blurb page for over a year. I didn't expect it to take so long but for some reason the graphic with positive type on the top, negative see through type on bottom messed with my mind a little bit! #BookSky #InteractiveBook #HandLettering

A very rough first draft which has horrible letter spacing. I knew I had to through something together very quickly so I could get the site online as soon as possible.

The second draft which became much more interesting. The drip of the "g" is now matched by the "L" pooling together. Looks like I didn't quite plan the spacing for the of letters on "again" too well at the point where the pool of ink was getting narrower.

The decender of the "g" made into the pool is so large that it almost doesn't read as a "g" at all. I kept it like that for over a year and a half. The basic idea of what I was going after was put in place though.

This hand pencil drawing got the letter spacing pretty good.

This was likely one of the first computer renderings where I was trying to imitate the look of black ink which was later extensively used in the first section of the site; the first five pages or so that have a gold look to them.

One of my favorite parts of this project was when I started writing poems on the many students I grew up. By thinking back on them again it got me to look into what they are doing now. I found someone from my sixth grade homeroom and I enjoyed reading his blog posts yesterday.

I got a box-set of the #ThreeNinja movies with the last in the series to star #HulkHogan. It is the weakest one with heavily recycled ideas and no original kid stars. I would rather grow up with the same actors to see how they mature in their high school years. The new kids are from Power Rangers.
