The creepiest Christian business slogan ever. With that kind of logic, no wonder we're dealing with Techno-Christian fascism.

Tonight, thousands are protesting ICE in NYC after they opened fire in a car with a 5-yr-old in the backseat. ICE fired 7 times, but only hit Oscar Bergal once. A protestor's sign reads: "Get the fuck out. All of them. The rogues & thugs. And the nice ones too." ✊🏼

Good news: people in Texas are registering to vote. 🗳 🤠 Bad news: the Republicans are not processing them. An "unidentified problem" created a massive backlog in tens of thousands of registrations. In one county, 45,000 registrations have been backlogged. Hopeful. But suspicious. ☹️
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- County election offices throughout Texas are scrambling to process a massive backlog of voter registration applications stemming from an error at the state level, a headache that is hitting just as they are preparing for voting to begin in the midterm elections
The problem, which officials in the
Republican-controlled state have not publicly defined. This also could have disenfranchised people who wanted to vote in the state's March primary but whose registration applications were never processed, local election officials said during a news conference Wednesday
'This is really out of left field. Knowing that this one element of (state) applications didn't come through, and we had no insight on it," said Chris McGinn, executive director of the Texas Association of County Election Officials
The size of the backlog statewide hasn't been determined. but the association said it is in the tens of thousands for some of the state's most populous counties. In Bexar County, which includes San Antonio, the election office received about 45,000 backlogged voter registratior applications.

💯 "If you don't learn how to do the heavy lifting of thinking & writing, you'll become an animal that survives eating only its own shit. Our words are what feeds the machine. AI becomes our mirror. When we only ever look at our reflection, the mirror becomes the meal." -Samantha Bise
A poem called: AI Cannibal Diet.
A student tells me I should teach how to write using AI as a tool. I tell him we don't use forklifts in the gym. Some tools can weaken us. This is less profane than what I really want to say to him: If you don't learn how to do the heavy lifting of thinking and writing, you will become an animal that survives eating only its own shit. Our words are what feeds the machine. AI becomes our mirror. When we only ever look at our reflection, the mirror becomes the meal. Soon we are eating what we already ate, chewing yesterday's language and calling it a new recipe. We harvest our own manure,
dress it up as knowledge, and the system that feeds it right back to us. Mama and baby birds passing chewed worms from beak to beak. Never swallowing or digesting a thing, but calling it sustenance. A strange new carnivore. Not flesh eating flesh, but thought eating thought, until the words become marrow-I mean narrow.
It's the new fad diet. All the rage.
Consume everything. Digest nothing. Intellect becomes thin. Translucent. AI anorexia. Outsource appetite. All thoughts pre-digested for you. No need to chew on a single thing.

Proof that Republicans got power across the Supreme Court, the House, the Senate, & the DOJ - only to abdicate it towards the Executive Branch. Trump's Fascism isn't power by force - it's being in a room of cowards. Filling the Republican Party with enough shills & 0 backbone that fascism works.

Republicans: Always wanting power - never taking responsibility. Their entire platform is perpetuating problems, while shifting the blame to a third party. And they'll do it over and over - until voters see through it.

Al is not the origin of data. It's a probabilistic regurgitation of words. It knows nothing, has no judgment, & has no experiences for itself. It cannot think. It cannot analyze. It cannot critique or reason. AI is word math. Humans are flawed, but our experiences are the origins of information.
And that's the cyclical probability of disinformation replicating itself.
Because it's being repeated so many times it's taken as fact
When it never had real sources.
The probability becomes high - the usage common.
But it was not constructed with proven data. Just perpetuated by probability

And that's what pissed me off about Stanford using Al.
Al doesn't know anything. It relies on real academics to source good data.
If the real academics are sourcing Al... then whose real & accurate data will Al be using?
Al will cite Stanford. While Stanford used Al. A snake eating its own tail.

Pre-2022, AI was reading only information derived from human judgment. But now that humans use AI all the time, the AI is feeding on its own slop & confidently regurgitating the misinformation to us. Each cycle makes it further removed from original human judgment & inevitably more inaccurate.
I think the math is sound.
The problem is: they need more & more data to make it more reliable.
Hence the data-guzzling of reading our FB posts and cutting up rare books to feed to the model.
But as we put Al slop out there - then it actually begins feeding on its own slop - & it becomes a cycle.

Essentially it requires good-sourced human judgment. Which is not in infinite supply.
If we use poor judgment, it learns it. And if we use Al slop-
It then takes in its own disinformation and regurgitates it back to us.
So the disinformation multiplies because NO ONE HAS judgment.

AI is sophisticated math meant to look like meaning. It has no inherent process to construct meaning, though. And that's why it confidently gives us true and false answers one after the other. The probability is 100% sophisticated guesswork.
That terrifies me. Because it means that very rightwing people and very leftwing people are going to get radically tailored answers... because the keywords they use in their questioning is going to draw from very different databases.

We might not even be getting the same information.

Every single word is probability guesswork.
There is NO judgment. NO thought.
It can't analyze data, think about it, & decide which is more accurate.
It only constructs new sentences via the complex probability of those words being in that order
It's sophisticated math.

An example in which AI tried to convince me I needed immediate psychological help for talking about reincarnation. Then dropped it immediately after I mentioned Hinduism.
Another example: I had the words schizophrenia & reincarnation in the same transcript. It was only supposed to process punctuation of the transcript, but it told me it couldn't because I needed psychological help - because I had delusions of grandeur.
The word schizophrenia opened a DSM database.

But I got curious and asked why it thought reincarnation meant I was delusional. Because nearly 2 billion Buddhists and Hindus believe in it.
Then, because I used those keywords it opened the religion database and told me that I was correct and it had been using a very western lens.

So the process by which you use specific keywords in relation to each other means the AI is going to give you wildly different judgments or assessments - based on the databases it dials into.
And just introducing a few keywords, changes its entire conclusion.
