Something something 9 (well, technically 10) games that I love
Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 (I couldn't decide which one I prefer) Donkey Kong Bananza, WarioWare Smooth Moves, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, Resident Evil 4, Zenless Zone Zero, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Animal Kaiser (It was an arcade game that was most prevalent in Asia back in 2007-13. Several machines were shipped over to certain parts of the world, England included. The two locations I remember going to were Prestatyn, the main reason I went there once every August up until 2019. The one Arcade game I hold dear to my heart, with the cards I've won as a keepsake.)

Mors, prophecy-obsessed father of Bowser, is back again. Essentially, the William Afton of the Mario Universe. He always comes back... *Care to hear his thoughts on humanity?*
"What they don't understand, they fear...
What they fear, they judge as evil...
What they judge as evil... they attempt to control...
And what they can not control...
They attack."

- Mors rambling on about humanity

Facts:

Mors never refers to Bowser as his son. The closest he gets is as his heir, or as his spawn.

After his sealing, Mors doesn't target specific people unless they're close to any of the Star Children... or if they have something that belongs to him... or if you somehow, for some reason, make him angry. (A feat in of itself)

When sealed, Mors is shackled to his throne.

Over time, the chains weaken...

The two Ashleys on my island. Ashley without pupils: daughter of Atlas & Ophelia (My hc take on her parents) Ashley with pupils: The Ashley based on the Ashley’s Story horror series by @voidmilkyway.bsky.social (A lot of my hc lore on the first image) #Warioware
(Ashley’s parents in my main AU)

Ophelia is also a witch; a kind yet often times mischievous one that may curse you out of amusement or to send a message.

Atlas is a homonculus created by an ancient being within the demon realms, who has spent more than 40 years adjusting to humanity, mostly with the help of the maroon-haired witch that wandered into his manor many years prior.

When they wanted Ashley to live a normal life for her own good, she was bullied for being "different." (Sound familiar?) This made Atlas's indifference with humans boil further.
When the spoon incident happened, Atlas and Ophelia comforted Ashley when she made it home.
When Ashley went to bed, Ophelia considered cursing the entire town for making her daughter cry. To Ophelia's surprise, Atlas disagreed, saying it'll just make things worse.

To try and get their mind off the day that transpired, they continued their research on supernatural forces within the realms. However, when they left the study, the portal they had used didn't close all the way...

Ashley got out of bed, holding her stuffed bunny tightly, and wandered into the study... just as a winged monster tore through the portal.

Just when Atlas got word from his shadow butler that Ashley had left her room, he and Ophelia heard her scream from the study.

When they burst into the room, they saw the monster about to make it through the portal with their daughter in it's grasp. Atlas used his long inhibited magic, fending off the monster and also protecting little Ashley.

When the portal shut, Atlas and Ophelia hugged their terrified daughter tight.

The next day, they decided to move Ashley to Diamond City as their occupation got too risky to have her around. They found a haunted mansion on the city's outskirts. They lived with Ashley for a year until the 10yo at the time told her parents that she was ready to live on her own now.

5 years later, no night goes by without Ashley longing for her workaholic parents to visit her.AS Ashley reading a spellbook behind my Ashley, while Atlas is seen sat on the couch, also reading a spellbook (Ophelia is also reading a spellbook out of frame.)

(Atlas and Ophelia hope for the very best for the alternate Ashley.)Atlas and both Ashleys on the roller coaster.

(Looks like Ashley is talking with her father, while AS Ashley may have just noticed Robin (The player from the Ashley's Story horror series) through the window. Wonder if she'll have the courage to wave at her.)

How I believe Wario would be in the Ashley's Story horror series by @voidmilkyway.bsky.social ____ In my eyes, the existence of WarioWare gives a unique layer to Wario as a character. The crew has mostly stuck with him. Some even look up to him. Not even he knows why.
"Not like this..."
____

Wario, looking at a picture frame of him and the rest of the WarioWare crew + 13-Amp. The glass is cracked due to Wario throwing his helmet across the room in a fit of rage. It inadvertently struck the picture, knocking it over. Upon regaining his senses, he approached it.

At that moment, Wario reminisced of the times he and the others had.
___

I believe that Wario knew of the content, but the only reason he sold the copies to Robin was because he couldn't bring himself to show the others because he was genuinely worried he'd make Ashley, and possibly even the rest of the WarioWare crew, leave him for good. (The events prior to DIY in canon, but worse.)

Even after all this time, the harrowing content never left Wario's mind. Unbeknownst to him, that same recipient is plagued with the guilt of spilling the details of the content.

Wario saw the account posting the content get deleted in real time, causing him to throw his helmet in the first place.
___

There was nobody Wario was more mad at than he was at himself."Why are these people so dense?!"
"D...Do those chumps know... thanks to her? (Referring to Robin)
What if they get the wrong idea...?
T-They'll think I'm..."
___

This isn't like Wario...

WarioWare OCs ___ "Their Greatest Gift..." ___ My take on Ashley's parents in my main WarioWare AU. #WarioWare
My personal take on Ashley's parents.

Ophelia, Ashley's mother, is also a witch. One that could make another's day shine brighter. Mostly nurturing yet mischievous.

Atlas, Ashley's father, is basically a puppet created by an ancient being within the demon realms to blend in with other humans, to eventually take over the world. The being had transferred most of its power to perfect its creation.

He was never supposed to feel emotion, let alone love. That all changed once an aspiring maroon-haired witch wandered into his manor.

Atlas always questioned whether he was "human" or just a "mimic." Ophelia would always see him as a human. Like her.
While Atlas would mostly spend his time reading books and discovering supernatural forces, Ophelia would also show Atlas many things on Earth. There was more to this world than magic. Food, flowers, animals, among many others.
She gave the puppet a heart.
Their love blossomed.
Atlas grew to tolerate humans.
Soon...
Ashley was born.

Nothing had made made the puppet tremble... until the moment he held his daughter for the first time.

He now had a purpose.

WarioWare OC Concepts (🧵) A few tweaks to the designs I've made in Tomodachi Life. First things first, starting off with Kat & Ana's parents. (I also threw in Leo's parents as a bonus.) #WarioWare
Here we have Kousei (Kat & Ana's father.)

Only thing we know of the ninja kindergartners' father is, according to the official WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ Japanese website, he left his parents' house when he was a kindergartner to seclude himself in the mountains and develop his self-discipline.
Kat & Ana planned to do the same, but abandoned the idea after playing a game of living by themselves for a while. However, Kat still expresses her resolve to go through this training.
__
Kousei is defined by discipline and restraint. He is stoic, serious, and deeply introspective, believing that strength is forged through solitude and self-mastery. He rarely shows emotion outwardly, but his love for his family runs deep beneath the surface.
He was so dedicated to his worldview that he could've even given Ashley a run for her money.
Despite his philosophy, Kousei is not cold. He is simply guarded. He struggles to express affection openly, particularly toward his daughters, though his actions consistently prove his devotion. While Kousei continues his duties away from home on occasion, he always comes back in the evenings to spend as much time with his daughters as he can.

Kousei is very wary of Wario (understandably so) and wonders how the twins even put up with him. He finds him equally as insufferable as his childhood rival, Sosuke. Here we have Akemi, mother of Kat & Ana.
She, like Kousei, was an aspiring young prodigy within the Iga Clan many years ago.

Each of these 4 here have their own prowess:
Kousei - All Rounder
Akemi - Speed
Scar - Power
Emiko - Technique

One day, Akemi managed to spar with Kousei and even made him struggle, something that was a big deal, considering the only other person that could accomplish such a feat was Scar. Though she would eventually lose, her efforts gained Kousei’s respect. He even proposed a rematch the next time they encountered one another. Akemi mentioned that they'd make a great team.

Eventually, something blossomed between them. Kousei would soon start defending Akemi with his life.

Eventually, when Kat & Ana were born, Akemi decided to prioritise being a mostly stay-at-home mother while her husband continued his duties for his family.

Also, her and Emiko are the best of friends, having been a duo themselves before they went their own paths. Nowadays, they have a friendly rivalry.

Akemi tolerates Wario, though she definitely gets Kousei’s concerns. She knows that Wario has a soft spot for his little microgame empire, and there's a reason their daughters still work for the plumber's antithesis.

*Going along with how Kat is more skilled with a sword, while Ana is more skilled in transformations, Kousei has more prowess in the former, and Akemi the latter*Here we have Sosuke (father of Leo.)

Him and Kousei go way back. Rivals ever since they were kindergartners. Kousei fights because of his dedication; Sosuke fights for the thrill of battle. Kousei is strategic. Sosuke always runs in without a plan, which is why he's always better in team efforts.

Sosuke also has a habit of ragebaiting Kousei. Most times nowadays, he mentions how he has more time for his son than Kousei does his daughters.

At the end of the day, he knows that, as much as Kousei doesn't want to admit it... their rivalry was what got them to their wives and, eventually, their children.

Sosuke can also be credited for not letting Kousei get consumed by his worldview. Even at the time when Kousei believed that she deserved someone better than him, Sosuke became more genuine with him. Here we have Emiko, mother of Leo.

The most technical of the 4. The perfect balance for Sosuke's brute force and also his inability to think before he acts.

Emiko always lurks in the shadows to gather as much intel as possible, think of strategies and when to use her jutsus to full effect.

How she met Sosuke:
After seeing Kousei and Akemi working together more regularly, Sosuke happened to walk into one of Emiko's traps. When she demanded intel, he mentions that he has a rival he must catch up to, and now said rival likely has a partner. He also mentions that he could really use someone like Emiko for her battle smarts.
The thing is, both of them weren't used to teamwork.
Sosuke because of his instinct to just rush the opposition, and Emi because she strategises too much. Somehow, Emiko was able to get Sosuke to listen to her commands.

In terms of jutsus, Sosuke always goes for the most powerful ones, essentially throwing something at a wall and hoping it sticks. While Emiko is much more versatile with the usage of her jutsus.

Emiko felt something blossom between her and Sosuke. In some cases, the hints are clear as day to the point where Kousei and Akemi suspect something blossoming between the two. However, Sosuke was mostly completely oblivious, to the point where it got on Emi's nerves.

Many cases were Akemi and Emiko were hanging out while their husbands bickered with one another, mostly due to Sosuke's mastery of the "art of ragebaiting."

With the births of their children, both Akemi and Emiko prioritised motherhood, while their husbands began cooperating more regularly for the next generation.

Emiko cherishes her son with all her heart, though she hopes that Leo doesn't inherit his father's stubbornness. (He's already inherited his dad's smugness.)

If Emperor Mors knew of Ashley's backstory? (In the Mario + WarioWare AU based on Ashley's Story by @voidmilkyway.bsky.social)
Mors, my personal take on Bowser's father, far crueller than his son. Where Bowser sees his troops as family. Mors sees cannon fodder.

Sealed away by Kamek years prior, Mors's reign had ingrained generations of torment.

For as long as there is fear and anguish, he will always be watching from beyond the realm.
____
Needless to say, if Mors were in the same universe Ashley's Story takes place in...

There's no saving her.

Unless you connect WarioWare with the Mario Universe, then we have a slither of a chance.
____
At least for Ashley in my main WarioWare headcanon (completely unrelated to Void's series), her parents actually have a heart.

Unfortunately for Bowser... this is my main headcanon for him.

Sorry, Bowz...

Part of me is really curious as to how the rest of the WarioWare crew could be portrayed in Ashley’s Story. Normally, others would think of Wario, Penny, or 5-Volt, but I focused on Dribble & Spitz for no particular reason. Below is an idea for dialogue regarding Ashley. @voidmilkyway.bsky.social
Spitz: "Dribble, ya' good?"

Dribble: "I dunno, Spitz..."

Spitz had to take a second to think.

Spitz: "It's... about Ashley, isn't it?"

Dribble: Exhale "Why wouldn't it be...?
I dunno what's going on with the kid... none of us have seen her around the city for nearly an entire month!"

Spitz: *Tail puffs up* "I know that, it's just...! *exhale* It's not normally this bad."

Dribble: "I just wanna think that she's just... taking her witch stuff more seriously..."

Spitz: "Yeah, I wanna think that, too... but surely Red would've let us know... but none of us have seen him either!"

The silence drags on.

Dribble: Looking at Ashley's mansion in the distance "Spitz...?"

Spitz: "Yeah, Dribble?"

Dribble: "Ya' think somethin' happened to her?"

Spitz: "..."

Dribble: *His grip on the steering wheel tightened* "Were those videos true...?"

Spitz completely loses his cool.

Spitz: "If that's the case, surely we'd have known!
All this stuff regarding her alleged past is driving me up the wall! These people don't understand! *His voice drops* and if it's all true... none of us do, either."

The silence drags on further as Dribble continued driving. He grits his teeth.

Dribble: "Quite frankly... I'm surprised she's stuck around with us for this long.
She's one of us. Nobody can convince us otherwise!"

Spitz: "What about the others...? Do they know...?"

Dribble: "..."

Then...
Dribble sees someone hesitate before waving at the approaching taxi.

Dribble: "Customer!"

Spitz: "Gah! Composure! Composure! Composure!" *Shakes Dribble's arm multiple times as he hits the brakes*

Dribble: "D-Diamond Taxi at your service!"

I made a mockup of how Bowser's father looks like in my Mario AUs in my Tomodachi Life island. (Yes, the role of *that one Mii that is isolated from the rest of the island* goes to him.) #SuperMario #TomodachiLifeLivingtheDream
My hypothetical take on Bowser's father, named Mors, casually reading a spell book.
Notice the barbed wire fences? The Island in the background?

Compared to Bowser, Mors is much more cruel, cunning, and strategic. He only thinks about himself.

In the original Super Mario Bros. Manual, Bowser was initially referred to as a 'Sorcerer King.' In my headcanon, Bowser still dabbles in magic every now and again, mainly relying on Kamek and the other magic wielders in his kingdom due to him mainly depending on his own abilities. He probably gets bored waving a scepter around.

(Mors uses dark magic as a crutch, essentially.)

Mario Universe AU concept: What if Bowser had a backstory similar to @voidmilkyway.bsky.social's take on Ashley? ___ OC Mors The twisted ruler of the Koopa Kingdom before Bowser. The cause and effect of many people’s nightmares, even long after he was sealed away.
Character log for Mors, during his reign of terror. (During the events of Yoshi's Island)

A few tweaks to the unused Beta Baby Bowser sprite from the Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island files. As a way to give an idea of what Mors looks like.

(Moomin lookin ahh)Character Log for Mors in the present day. (Or at least... what's left of him.)

*Currently only seen in people's nightmares...*

"His physical body has long since diminished... but his magic hasn't. If anything, it's only gotten more powerful... not just the only thing keeping him alive even after all this time, but also seems to occasionally spread into the real world.
Some poor soul could've unknowingly come into contact with it."

___

A clearer way to describe Mors's appearance is to say that he's essentially Giga Bowser, but only slightly larger than regular Bowser (Moreso Bowser is only his height when Mors is sat on his throne.) but with Morton Koopa Jr.'s colour scheme, an empty eye socket, and a broken horn.

Currently in a Dry Bowser-esque state, due to being in the demon realms for so long, and also his dark magic eating away at his physical body due to how volatile it had become.

This is gonna be a load of barnacles... Anyway, rounding off my WarioWare parent headcanons, we have... Ashley’s parents! (Just to clarify, they cherish Ashley in my main headcanon. okay, got that out of the way.) #WarioWare #AshleyWarioWare #TomodachiLifeLivingtheDream
Here we have Atlas, father of Ashley.

*The only thing we know of Ashley's parents *in canon* is that they live far from Diamond City, and Ashley frequently thinks about them. There was also something mentioning how she saw a family of monkeys, and it reminded her of her parents, so... take it with a grain of salt.*
___
It all started with an ancient being within the Demon Realms. Desperate to spread its influence into the real world. So it's course of action... create an avatar in the body of a human with its essence to live amongst other humans.

The being summoned a manor out of thin air to house Atlas as he grew up.
For 15 years, it was solitude... until an aspiring maroon-haired witch wandered into his manor.

This was unprecedented. Let alone the fact that thanks to this maiden, he would learn to live amongst humans. Emotions were supposed to be foreign to someone like him.
Atlas's sorcery is practically unparalleled. Able to channel most spells with mere thoughts. Ophelia loved sparring with Atlas. He deliberately cast inhibitors on himself so that he didn't make it as one-sided.

Atlas's body trembled when he held his daughter for the first time.

Eventually, Atlas and Ophelia decided to put their magic prowess to use, investigating paranormal forces far and wide. Though, this would eventually lead to a being nearly snatching Ashley several years prior. This is when they decided to make the choice to move her to Diamond City. As much as he loves her, he always worried that she'd end up like him: aloof, distant, and irritable. That much would hold true... but so long as she forms bonds within Diamond City, what Atlas learned from Ophelia...
They're stronger... together.

Ashley gets most of her traits from her father: aloofness, raw magic output, his addiction to human food, and, of course... the hair and eyes. (Yes, his hair turns white as well.)

To gain his trust would be near-to-impossible, unless Ophelia already trusts you, then you're fine. Here we have Ophelia, mother of Ashley.

A kind, nurturing, and often times mischievous witch that took one look at Atlas and said, "I can fix him." And that she did. For her, it was love at first sight.

Ophelia also loved flowers, animals, and brewing potions, as well as singing.

When Ashley was born, Ophelia cried tears of pure bliss...
She also sewed the stuffed skeleton bunny that Ashley has had ever since she was a baby.

Though Ashley inherited her father’s aloofness and potential, she also inherited her mother's want of learning more new things.

Atlas has a ton of bookshelves that Ophelia read through almost all of them. Even if some of the spells turned out to be too advanced for her, it's the thought that counts.

Ophelia would definitely let Atlas know of the most recent trends at the time and hear his say on said matters, for better or worse.

Continuing on from my last post, here we have my take on one of the biggest WarioWare mysteries... 9-Volt's father! #WarioWare #TomodachiLifeLivingtheDream
Here is 4-Volt, 9-Volt's father.
(Get it? Because 5 + 4 = 9) *WHEEZE*

Only thing we know of 9-Volt's father in canon is that he's a firefighter. Seen as how 5-Volt's Rank A card in Gold states that it "fans the flames of her love for him" implies a good relationship. (At least I hope.)

Nothing is said about him being a gamer, but we can only assume he most likely is one, though not nearly as much as his wife and son. I imagine he used to be a really avid gamer like his wife, but soon prioritised firefighting.

I can easily see him sometimes being scared of 5 whenever she starts having one of her out-of-body experiences.
I even picture a scenario where 4-Volt gets up to check if 9-Volt's sleeping. He opens the door to see... his wife just watching TV in his room. (She was asleep right next to him when he got out of bed.)

He's had to get used to his wife's spirit form possibly teleporting her randomly. Not that it's ever stopped his love for her.

He cherishes 9-Volt, always making sure he's succeeding in both his games and his school grades. Also ensuring that all's going well in WarioWare, Inc.

(Put him in the next WarioWare, you cowards!)4-Volt and 5-Volt on my Tomodachi Life Island.

Well, it's time to show my takes on what I think the parents of Kat & Ana (+ Leo) would look like in WarioWare, courtesy of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. (Expect more!) #WarioWare #TomodachiLifeLivingtheDream

__
Kousei is defined by discipline and restraint. He is stoic, serious, and deeply introspective, believing that strength is forged through solitude and self-mastery. He rarely shows emotion outwardly, but his love for his family runs deep beneath the surface.
From a young age, Kousei rejected comfort. As a kindergartner, he left his parents’ home to seclude himself in the mountains, believing that true ninjutsu could only be learned through isolation and hardship. This experience shaped his worldview. Control over the self is paramount, and reliance on others is a weakness. He is so dedicated to his worldview that he could've even given Ashley a run for her money if not for his dear wife, Akemi.

Kat mostly takes from her father as implied.

He is very wary of Wario (Understandably so) and wonders how the twins even put up with him. He finds him equally as insufferable as Scar.

Here we have Scar, father of Leo.

Him and Kousei go way back. Rivals ever since they were kindergartners. Kousei fights because of his dedication; Scar fights for the thrill of battle. Kousei is strategic. Scar always runs in without a plan, which is why he's always better in team efforts. (And most likely how he got his... scar.)

Scar has a habit of ragebaiting Kousei, sometimes mentioning how he has more time for his son than Kousei does his daughters.

At the end of the day, he knows that, as much as Kousei doesn't want to admit it... they would've never had their prides and joy if not for their rivalry.

"Face it, Kousei... where you be without me...? Where would I be without you...?"Here we have Emiko, mother of Leo.

The most technical of the 4. The perfect balance for Scar's brute force and his inability to think before he acts.

Emiko always lurks in the shadows to gather as much intel as possible, think of strategies and when to use her jutsus to full effect.

How she met Scar:
After seeing Kousei and Akemi working together more regularly, Scar happened to walk into one of Emiko's traps. When she demanded intel, he mentions that he has a rival he must catch up to, and now said rival likely has a partner. He also mentions that he could really use someone like Emiko for her smarts. The thing is, both of them weren't used to teamwork. Scar because of his instinct to just rush the opposition, and Emi because she strategises too much. Somehow, Emiko was able to get Scar to listen to her commands.

In terms of jutsus, Scar always goes for the most powerful ones, essentially throwing something at a wall and hoping it sticks. While Emiko is much more versatile with the usage of her jutsus.

Emiko felt something blossom between her and Scar. In some cases, the hints are clear as day to the point where Kousei and Akemi suspect something blossoming between the two. However, Scar was mostly completely oblivious, to the point where it got on Emi's nerves.

Many cases were Akemi and Emiko were hanging out while their husbands bickered with one another, mostly due to Scar's mastery of ragebaiting.

With the births of their children, both Akemi and Emiko prioritised motherhood, while their husbands began cooperating more regularly for the next generation. Emiko cherishes her son with all her heart, though she hopes that Leo doesn't inherit his father's stubbornness.

It has been 1 year since my view of Ashley from WarioWare changed drastically... along with plenty of others. (I mean, I can't recall when I first watched Part 1, but it was before Part 2 dropped.) Shoutout @voidmilkyway.bsky.social
While it differs from my personal headcanon for Ashley,
(In my headcanon, Ashley's mother, who was also a witch, died of unknown causes. And her father, who was created by an ancient being within the demon realms and who she got most of her traits from, went insane. For many years Ashley, believed that he had abandoned her, when in reality, it was to protect her from his mistakes.)
Void's take makes so much sense for her character. Having abusive parents and being abandoned for not being 'normal' definitely explains why she acts the way she does.
If anything, one of my other AUs has Void's take on Ashley in mind. Essentially most of Ashley's Story, but with the Mario Universe looped into it, including my Bowser headcanon backstory (that I mentioned in a previous post.)

I look forward to what's to come next.

Best wishes✨️

I keep imagining Bowser internally being similar to @voidmilkyway.bsky.social's take on Ashley. (I guess you'd say the same for Kamek as well.)
Bowser being frequently abused by his father would definitely explain why he is the way he is. Yet he still treats his troops like family and cherishes his son, something his father never had the heart to do.
Bowser's father would be, in every sense of the word, horrifying. Unlike his "pathetic spawn," he was cunning and frightfully intelligent.
While Bowser would go onward alongside his troops, his father sees them as disposable and would mainly appear in-person when there is an opportunity for an ambush.
Those occasional times Bowser would use dark magic? Well his father's mastery of dark magic only exacerbated the terror he would instill prior to or after the events of Yoshi's Island.
The concept of the Star Children would definitely have the king foaming at the mouth and the only time he would care about Bowser is when he finds out that he is a star child. Along with Mario, Luigi, Peach, Wario and Donkey Kong, Bowser was to have his powers absorbed if not for Kamek finally rebelling against the king he once worshipped so long ago. He opened a portal that pulled the tyrannical king in, sealing him away in a different realm.
As Bowser's sole caretaker, Kamek made sure that no matter what, he would never end up like his father.
