The Treasury Department last week said it's going to get community development financial institution funding out the door ahead of a 9/30 deadline. But it didn't say how much, and they're not getting the benefit of the doubt. Hence, this lawsuit. news.bloomberglaw.com/banking-law/...

Here's an update on the OCC layoffs yesterday: 1) Around 50 people received reduction-in-force notices. 2) Those people rejected a buyout offer sent to around 200 people in June. 3) The OCC has lost around 30% of its staff since early 2025. news.bloomberglaw.com/banking-law/...

I'm sure I've told this story before, but I lived on 27th Street and Third Ave. on 9/11. It was a beautiful Tuesday and I went out to vote in a primary. I walked north and was listening to U2's "All that You Can't Leave Behind" on my Discman (look it up kiddos).

That's right near my kid's middle school, and every few weeks he'll just come home and say he popped into a movie after school. He's gonna be so sad! It was a pretty good theater, too. I used to go a lot when I lived in the neighborhood.

The full 10th Circuit heard a case challenging a 2023 law allowing it to go after loans issued to Colorado by banks in other states that violate Colorado's interest rate caps. There was some support for the law from the bench, but much more skepticism. news.bloomberglaw.com/banking-law/...
