As we close our 16th season of the Capitol Hunger Garden and the end of Hunger Action Month, it reminds us that we have the ability to take action to solve hunger, but we should continue to address food insecurity throughout the year to make sure none of our neighbors go hungry.

This court order underscores the urgent need for the state to address our failed property tax system. We are in dire need of a better system that is transparent and more predictable, and that means requiring regular reassessments for all 67 counties.

Today marks the 61st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, a landmark law that outlawed discriminatory practices that had silenced millions of Americans at the polls. As we honor this historic achievement, we must also recommit ourselves to protecting the right to vote for ALL Americans.

Can Pa. elections officials get approval to sort mail ballots earlier?
A bill that would let counties start to sort and prepare mail ballots a week ahead of Election Day cleared the House in June and sits in the Senate.

PA’s budget is late for the 5th year in a row
