Ngl.... Tumblr has been so awesome I kind of totally forgot about updating the comic on Bluesky... Sorry guys...

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

It's a comic and you can find more info on it on my tumblr!

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

As a treat to Bluesky for delaying the other part, I'll let you see this one early. This one I have typed out entirely in the alt text, so knock yourself out. #bloodsong #simonxadrian #simononerid part 13.5

PROJECT LEAD
ACADEMIC
•Under a lot of pressure to produce results and not let the body count increase (counting Blip-A crew as deceased)
Simon name: Bastard

GENERAL RESEARCHER / INTERN / JANITOR / HELPFUL PRESENCE
• Child of mated pair on Blip-A
• Determined to continue & honor their legacy
• Youngest on the team
Simon name: Turd, later changed to Nan (slang for someone who distributes resources/keeps things orderly but isn't in a position of power, derived from nanny/nonna)

DOCTOR
•Is trying to make sure nobody dies. Their advice gets ignored too often.
•Mate of Blip-A doctor.
Simon name: Ice

LINGUIST / ACADEMIC
•None of their knowledge is applicable to Simon.
•No successful communication with Simon on any level.
•Insane levels of inferiority complex.
Simon name: Green / Screamer / Half

ENGINEER
•Teacher who came out of retirement to aid in the warmth-taker crisis. Taught both Rocky and Adrian (at different times)
•Belives themself should have been on the Blip-A, to spare the life of even a single Eridian with more life left to live.
•Oldest on the team by far.
Simon doesn't know they exist.

ADRIAN
•Picked up engineeding and environmental/atmospheric studies to keep up with Rocky and help the Blip-A mission, and later to keep busy.
•Good at almost everything they try.
•Not passionate about much, especially not since Rocky departed.
•The inaction all around them is driving them insane.
Simon name: Blue / Big Blue

ARCHITECT / FABRICATOR
•Rocky's clutch-sibling
•Adrian avoids them
•Has no desire to meet the alien, and so Simon doesn't know they exist.

BIOLOGIST / CHEMIST
•Adrian's cousin and childhood friend
•Birth defect/injury makes them sensitive to temperature changes and essentially immunocompromised.
•Well-liked by almost everyone, very polite.
Simon name: Demon (anaesthesia doesn't exist as a concept on Erid, and they were the one most involved in Simon's "health assessments")

A quick look on some of the things Simon has obtained, and how he's put them to use in his biodome. Sorry about my shitty writing. Maybe I'll add it all in a comment or edit it in eventually. If you want to see it written out in text rn, you'll have to visit tumblr #bloodsong #simonxadrian Part 12

Haha yeah 18+ will def be here when I get to that point

010

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Aw thank you so much!!! It's been incredible actually!! Everyone there has been so so nice and the reception has been amazing I find myself constantly lost for words! Anyway hope you enjoy the extra info and unhinged posts!

110

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Yeah, 100%! But also, he did recognize some of the sample-taking instriments because less advanced versions of them had been used on him before.

010

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Meant to imply it's not the first time Simon sees/uses this specific thing. Usually there's a lot of panomime and guessing invonved!

110

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

You can now find all of this au on my tumblr at renv-f, as long with a few bonus sketches I'll be posting soon, and a lot of additional info! You can also send me asks! I love talking about this au!

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

The Eridians don't know about anaesthetic, and they wouldn't have been able to synthesize it on such short timeframe regardless. But hey, thanks to Adrian it won't have to come to that again, right? Tw: a bit of blood #bloodsong #simonxadrian #bloodymaryontherocks part 11

Simon thoughts in order:

That blue one is here again.
It wants me to choose something.

Some of the things it brings are from the sub.
Some are just alien.

If I want to keep an item, I have to do what it wants. It's a trade.

Most the time, it's blood or skin.

I guess they need it for something.

I don't mind these trades. They are better than the alternative.

Went back to add some info on this since a couple people were confused. That wasn't Rocky, he's still not on Erid. Rather than something plush, I believe something solid, heavy, and textured would be more comforting for Adrian #bloodsong #bloodymaryontherocks #simonxadrian #rockdrian part 9.5

Rocky Doll 1:1

Recreating someone's likeness is considered uncanny, rude, and moderately taboo.

Adrian keeps it hidden and doesn't invite guests.
They often sleep with it.
It weighs the same as rocky

I'll be taking a few more days off from posting, I'm way too busy to be doing a page every two days, just fyi

030

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

I'm having a totally normal amount of fun whenever I have to come up with some Eridian doodah or their approximation of what would make their own stuff easier for Simon to use. Have a deep vessel with two handles so you can hold it with one hand, but also it's definitely not a human cup or bowl.

040

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

Some Simon thoughts. Eridians don't know what the fuck he eats or how much he needs to eat. They also have no clue what losing weight means, because they don't have the concept of fat reserves. #bloodsong #bloodymaryontherocks #simonxadrian part 10 (yay!)

It's been getting better, I think. They've been bothering me less.

They just bring me food and leave. I think they're scared of me.

...That's for the best.

The food still sucks, but now it feels less like I'm eating sand and rust. It's still too little. I'm losing weight. But I need to survive, and this is keeping me alive. Somehow.

I can't tell if they want to use me ...or just torture me.

Hell yeah I have 1 fan! Dbdjkddj fr tho thank u. Just for that I'll share the next part today (was gonna do it tomorrow)

110

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

For realllllll it just goes so well

010

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

HELL YEAH I FOUND ONE! RAREPAIR SUPREMACY LET'S GOOOOO

010

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

Adrian usually sleeps alone when at home. That way they can pretend Rocky is still watching them. The familiar shape and weight helps The endless questions about when they'll accept a new mate never end though. Isn't it too soon to write them all off as dead? But Adrian doesn't speak the words.

080

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

I wanted to draw an extra for it but didn't have time. That is Adrian's homemade Rocky replica. They kind of made it without realizing what they were doing. They can't let anyone find out, it's an extremely disturbing thing to have made the likeness of another. The replica is articulated.

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

Adrian goes home and gets some sleep. (That is not Rocky.) (Not sure how noticeable it is but the first row is them exiting the lab) #bloodsong #bloodymaryontherocks part 9

Panel 1

X: "Adrian is out of alien habitat??"
Y: "How was it??"
Adrian: "Manageable"

Panel 2

F: "Are you sure you don't need-"
Adrian: I have everything I need, thank you friend 🎶🎵"
F: "..."

Panel 3 (outside)

Z: "Adrian is most harmonious again today!"
E: "Has Adrian decided about courting new mate yet??"

Panel 4

Z: "..."

Tumblr may be fun. There is so much uninterrupted fanart.

010

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Very happy to hear! They'll probably slow down though, my hands hurt from overworking :(

110

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Hmmmm not sure I'd put it that way. You'll just have to see!

110

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Yeah they don't know if Simon knows! (Simon doesn't know) Domesticating animals isn't really a thing in Eridian culture, not in the same way that humans keep pets or make friends with other species, so there hasn't been much research into that. Adrian has a good sense for it.

110

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Yea!! But also Adrian is lucky it worked out because Simon genuinely /could/ have caused a disaster. That was a xenonite sharp object, which actually had the ability to scratch/damage both Adrian's suit and the dome's walls. Lead is right to have concerns (I hate that guy tho)

110

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Like all of those concerns are valid. However. Adrian currently does not give a shit. I want to explore this attitude in the future because it is /not/ good for Adrian.

020

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Reading order goes left to right then down then left. Yes I'll keep mixing it up. Comic artists fear me. Can't belive I finally kind of make an Eridian oc and their entire job is to piss me off lmao. They are under a lot of pressure tbf. #bloodsong #bloodymaryontherocks part 8

2301

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

AAAAAHH I see thank you!!

010

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

😭 I'm not sure how people do the stuff with the links that are like a single underlined word? I tried to use the link button but it just shows the full link. Also how can I group stuff besides links so people can easily find everything? Can I pin more than one thing to profile? Can tags be anything?

320

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Why is Tumblr so complicated to use. I guess that's how they keep the normies out. I'm a weirdo I promise let me in

I have made a Tumblr.

010

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

Asks are something I'm interested in 🤔 I'm not sure if they'd end up distracting me from the mainline stuff though

010

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

I mean I don't rly have followers lol most of them are from the previous fandom For here, I'm using a tag for the Simon and Adrian stuff, and the robotics au is a single thread so I don't think it's that hard.. Mostly I wonder if there's enough interest to be worth the effort of me learning tumblr

110

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

Simon is not stupid. He knows if they are determined enough to try and take it back when he's asleep, means the next step is they will try force. So he gave it a shot, but he knows when to cut his losses.

060

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

When the Eridians tried to take Simon in for a health check while he was asleep and he just woke the fuck up as if it was a normal thing to do??? Terrifying. Now they're more cautious. Simon gave himself a bit of a haircut and trim on the beard w the cutters #bloodsong #bloodymaryontherocks part 7

Inner thoughts:

Adrian:

It is finally asleep... It can wake up with noise, but it should be safe to retrieve the cutter now.

It woke up?? From this little noise?? Is its hearing not bad after all? Will it try to attack??

Is it... returning the tool? Maybe it realized it's not allowed to keep it.

Simon:

Just take it.

You wouldn't leave without it anyway.

This is probably just your job... but thanks.

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

Also you if you focus you can hear ~4 Eridians shitting themselves when Simon tosses the collar scraps. They think he's going to go on a rampage. Tbf Adrian should be far more worried than they are. Rip Simon's collar, you will be missed (by the freaks exclusively)

040

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

Fun fact! The COI convict collars are welded shut when they are first put on their convicts with minimal (if any) heat protection. Even after the collar is removed, there's usually leftover scarring + indents from years or wear so it's never /really/ gone. #bloodsong #bloodymaryontherocks part 6

1572

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

I was putting away some stuff and found this sketch of Simon in the Ball™ I wish I had the time and money to make this into a shaker charm, but alas

1110

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

If Simon could see there's more of these creatures watching him he'd probably think it was definitely a trap. At least this big one doesn't seem as pushy as the previous ones. #bloodsong #bloodymaryontherocks part 5

Good. Now stay there.

Or better yet,

LEAVE.

...Fucking alien.

0321

RenV @renv.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

If Eridian voices freak out the alien, maybe keeping things simple will work better. I won't be drawing Adrian's suit every single time, just assume that it's there, ok? #bloodsong #bloodymaryontherocks part 4

Simon's inner thoughts (bc my handwriting sucks):

What now? Another experiment? It's pointing at me?

...The collar?

Is it upset? What is that for? Looks heavy... Pointing at me again?

What the hell is it trying to-

Oh.

THAT.

GIVE.
