I've got three of those. Is the Cramps album the 'new' one? So what's the idea with this nine albums things - all-time faves or significant in your musical journey?

Yeah, that's not quite so impressive.

You don't seem to get that the tech bros aren't doing any of this AI bollocks for the good of mankind. They want to own everything and charge the earth for mere mortals to participate. Sure, they'll lure you in with promises of creativity, but the price will only ever go up and the experience down.

It would surely be a better strategy to bin talk of 'rejoin' and just focus on closer alignment one stage - that can be sold as a win - at a time?

I think there will be a huge swing to the left as the damage done by the oligarchy becomes ever clearer. But I'm also struggling to see how a second civil war can be avoided in the process.

It's all just so utterly bizarre. It's not like London was ever a free-flowing motorist's paradise.

Yep! Biddulph is another she did off the back of it - supporting Kim Ritchey - and I'm sure there'll be more.

A fine album. Won't be able to make any of the shows, alas.

Evening all. Will be finishing off the ironing while I'm listening, so will join you soon. Great start.

I have to suffer the mental torture of Capital Radio on the radio at work - the same dozen songs on perpetual rotation for weeks on end. A new artist is never going to break through this way unless they have been 'selected' by the industry.

Mark Howson @renkadima.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

That's exactly it! I can't remember anything about the Champion show itself, but do remember the sinking feeling looking at the BBC lineup during the summer hols back in the '70s - The Flashing Blade, Robinson Crusoe, etc.

I get impression you've had a trying week 😉

Change of plans for tomorrow so I will be joining you after all. Forgetmenot from Susannah Clegg's new album, Good Times Are Coming Our Way, please, Richard.

Most of the reservees don't turn up anyway, so what's the point?

I saw a YouTube video the other day that suggested the platform is actively seeking out original content to promote and suppressing 'generic' content. Good news for you if true.

I think we've moved past the stage where 'what is right for the country?' is of any concern to the oligarchy. I know I sound like a conspiracy nut, but I'm increasingly convinced that the 0.01% want all the money and power for themselves and sowing discord is what will get them to their goal.

Have an excellent trip! See you when you get back.

Thanks, Richard. I'm afraid I have two Monday gigs on the bounce, so see you in three weeks.

Nottingham for me. I was absolutely transfixed when I saw him in Austin two years ago.

Seeing them on Monday 5th (sorry!)

Yes, and we don't refer to them as 'the formerly wealthy' as a result of said taxation.

Paul was on the 'Oh God, What Now?' podcast recently. He sounds like a great bloke. Have a great evening.

Ophelia by Saint Senara, please, Richard. I saw them recently at an anniversary party and was very impressed 😎

And it wasn't even their song. It was a cover.

I have to tell you now that no such undertaking has been received - and that consequently, this country is at war with Piddington.

Let's hope the "Retiring completely from public life and never being seen or heard again" option is the one she goes for.

It's the middle of the night, and a young fireman confronts a fire the like of which he's never seen before. It is the night of 7 September 1940, and 24-year-old Frank Hurd is fighting fires on the first night of the London #Blitz. An illustrated thread... 🧵 1/19

There's a lot here to be sickened by, but for some reason the "do you understand what's happening?" really got me. What's happening, Zia? Explain it to us. Use your words. Say it out loud. No no, not "wink wink, nudge nudge, you know..." Why is it a problem she's nominated? Say it, coward.
