What is perseverance?
Perseverance is about being willing to bend, but not to break. It's the push to keep moving forward even when the destination seems unreachable; and it's about accepting all the pain that comes along with doing so.

The most famous example of Perseverance is that of The Tortoise and the Hare: while the latter overestimated its talent and rested on its laurels, the former didn't let the overwhelming disadvantage discourage it. In the end, it's the one who persevered that won.

The shadow of one's soul
An unhealthy Perseverance is usually unwilling to let things end. It can be close-minded and insistent, often hurting everyone involved in the process: the Persevering are the most susceptible to the sunk cost fallacy.

It can also build up a quiet resentment toward those it's been enduring for, as an unhealthy Perseverance often doesn't say things until it's too late.

Often confused with determination
DETERMINATION and PERSEVERANCE are often confused for one another, but the difference lies in where the energy points.
While DETERMINATION refuses every ending except the one it chose, PERSEVERANCE will look for different ways to achieve at least one of the results it was aiming for.

Of course, that doesn't mean one can't take from the other. Being so similar in behavior, the Determined and the Persevering often find each other to be fascinating: the former admires the endurance and planning skills of the latter, who in turn admires the Determined's desire for success.

the thing that sticks out to me as keito is his... precipitous balance between childhood and adult. his reluctance to let go of fantasy and childhood, his fear of adulthood and turning into "an adult" ... my favorite dialogue of his is in downfall, when he and natsume are watching the singing children and he comes to a realization: who's going to protect these children? if I don't become an adult, how can I protect the children in this world? his transition from (and duality as, by virtue of the time shenanigans) someone who is "protected" to someone who "protects" is really incredibly depicted ... I have younger friends who have shared their fears of growing up with me and I saw that reflected a lot in him

inside everyone (or most everyone) is a version of themselves that is a child: whose needs were met or weren't, who was protected or wasn't, a bundle of core memories and foundational experiences... but for keito, the reverse is also true. a version of himself as an adult, and all the pain leading up to his death, exists inside himself as a child. and to be terrified of that (especially as someone for whom pain must mostly be imagined rather than understood) is completely understandable

The answer, given by Tom Mac, reads, This is one of those more recent ideas that has become very popular, that Aphrodite is essentially a chameleon to mirror our own desires, and for what it’s worth it’s very poetic, since Aphrodite does come from the sea, Aphrodite is naturally associated with mirrors, and logically it would help reinforce how she can remain always attractive to everyone at all times. this same organization has been working to replant lands devastated by israeli attacks since 2001! as listed on their site, replanting a tree in gaza costs only 7 usd. if you have a few dollars to spare, I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

For over 70 years, the Israeli forces have been uprooting, burning, and stealing millions of olive and other fruit-bearing trees from Palestinian lands. These efforts are part of a systematic movement to displace Palestinians and facilitate the expropriation of occupied land for the expansion of illegal settlements. The Million Tree Campaign (MTC), launched in 2001, replants trees in the Palestinian lands under the slogan “They Uproot a Tree … We Replant Ten".
The significance of the program lies in counteracting Israel’s deliberate confiscation of agricultural lands, which have contributed to high rates of food insecurity and unemployment in Palestine. Phainon: Alright... It's about time for us to part ways.
Phainon: Any final goodbyes you want to share? This might be your last chance.
Mydei: Hmph...
Phainon: ...Why so quiet? I thought divinity would wash away some of your sentiments.
Mydei: Do you truly feel as carefree as you seem? Or... is this just a facade you wear?
Phainon: ...You know what, you sound just like Aglaea at this moment.
Phainon: But you're not off the mark... I just thought putting on a nonchalant front for this occasion might help us preserve some dignity.

Phainon: In the age before the Lance of Fury (Strife Titan) fell from grace, Castrum Kremnos would follow the Lance into battle after battle. It's a city that enforces strict discipline and reveres military might.
Phainon: Compared to that, the customs of my home feel very unsophisticated.

Phainon: Aglaea mentioned that... someone must touch the Coreflame and absorb it to become its temporary receptacle.
Phainon: Mydei, do you...
Mydei: ...This honor is yours. Isn't it something you've been longing for?
Phainon: But you're more deserving of it... You sustained all these new wounds from fighting them.
Mydei: If you have any idea how exhausting it is to fight a protracted battle...
Mydei: ...Then you should know that pointless arguments are the last thing I want to get into now.

Castorice: Lord Mydei isn't here yet...
Phainon: It's fine, Miss Castorice. He spoke to me already.

#hsrtweeting I can only say one thing for certain: hephaestion is deeply insecure about himself and his relation to kremnoan tradition and ideals. for me, this follows, because according to mydei, he didn't look like a kremnoan warrior, though he fought twice as hard to compensate for it.

Mydei: The wind in the wilds of Amphoreus smells like rust. Hephaestion would always tease me about adding goat milk to the honey brew, claiming I ruined the blood-red color of the drink. He had a scrawny figure, but was a relentless force on the battlefield, dispatching foes without so much as a blink.
