Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 20hAppleton was great. Hope to visit Wisconsin again soon. 010
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Visiting Wisconsin for the first time. I’m reminded how polite the mid west is. 020
Reposted by Remo NassuttiCoy Hall @coyhall.bsky.social · 01/10/2026My new novel, Devilry in Godling Wood: A Medieval Horror, will have an audiobook! A first for me. Richard Reed is the narrator, and he does an incredible job with it. Out Oct 23. Add on Goodreads if interested: www.goodreads.com/book/show/25... 04212
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 19/09/2026My mom watching It Follows: “This is so good. I wish I could write something this scary.” 000
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Peter Steele as an MTG card. (Finally got this to run on my computer) 030
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 17/09/2026My mom went from being terrified of all horror to reading MR James, writing a ghost story, and is considering watching It Follows. 120
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 11/09/2026In the middle of the desert near Reno, you can visit these nasty little casinos next to truck stops. The entire united states feels like a decaying truck stop casino. 001
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 06/09/2026I am reminded of Seattle (except it’s still 79 degrees) 000
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 28/08/2026I was so impressed by “The World of Yesterday,” that I had to add another Zweig novel to my to-read list. As a regular chess player, this should be fun. 010
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 22/07/2026A couple books that I’ve read in the past couple of years that I think about all the time. I guess the ocean factors into the dominant themes. What are the books that you constantly dwell on? 020
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 18/07/2026I am generally not one for hype. But I will be joining the hype over Obsession. As a jaded, long-time horror fan, it was refreshing to watch such a creative film. Kiyoshi Kurosawa-esque. 030
Reposted by Remo NassuttiCoy Hall @coyhall.bsky.social · 27/06/2026One for backlist Saturday. And it’s on sale for 99 cents for two more days! Mybook.to/WWI Death’s Other Kingdom: Horror Tales of World War I 03012
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 27/06/2026I’ve become a pretty big Jean Rollin fan, and the imagery from The Living Dead Girl (1982) is some of his most arresting and quietly emotive. Beautiful gauzy and melancholy mixed with emotional and horrifying. One of my favorite horror films. 061
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 19/06/2026My wife and I with very different impressions of Safe (1995). 020
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 18/06/2026It has been almost one year since the release of my novel Blue Raspberry. A coming of age novel set in the Bay Area in 2005. For fans of Less Than Zero, Hear the Wind Sing, and At the Gates to the Animal Kingdom. 152
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 12/06/2026This has been a fusion heavy week for me. The perfect music for when I’m taking my son to the park. 010
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 10/06/2026One of the first jazz records I ever heard. I originally found the CD in my mom’s collection. It began my long-time obsession with fusion. Still keep it in regular rotation. 030
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 08/06/2026Started rereading the collected ghost stories last night. I highly recommend them to any fan of horror. In my novel, Blue Raspberry, I structured the chapter “Vile” after the classic James ghost story. While my chapter was very different, James’s story telling methods were a big inspiration. 020
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 08/06/2026Strongly feeling the urge to reread some MR James stories. 020
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 06/06/2026Without exaggeration Meshes of the Afternoon (1943) might be the greatest short film I’ve ever seen. Meticulous beautiful, dreamy, hypnotic imagery. I’m guessing David Lynch was a fan. 010
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 06/06/2026A book I read earlier this year that has really stuck with me. I feel the urge to reread it already. 010
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 29/05/2026One of my fondest childhood memories was when my brother, my friend, and I tried to make our own Kurosawa style samurai epic with the family 8mm camcorder. I wrote the screenplay by hand in a spiral notebook. Fun times. 020
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 20/05/2026Zweig, who was born 109 years before me describing the trials of his generation and the heartbreak of seeing a once enlightened society devolve into barbaric and illiterate fascism might be one of the most disturbing and relatable things I have ever read as a millenial. 030
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 16/05/2026I have been reading Stefan Zweig’s “The World of Yesterday.” It’s really a fascinating read. Like an auto-ethnography rich with detail but also personal passion about a Europe before the ascendancy of fascism in the 1930s. While it is lengthy and winding, it’s a must read. 030
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 16/05/2026Pearl clutching over Nabokov is so passé. Somehow the decentralization of literary discourse has still managed to produce a rigid structure of vapid (and whiney) moralizing. 000
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 10/05/2026Obviously illiteracy is a major variable but the geometric increase of public insanity and prideful stupidity seems at the very least strongly correlated to the rise of algorithmic social media and the consolidation of internet traffic to fewer and fewer websites. 010
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 10/05/2026It’s truly frustrating to have conversations with people whose attitudes and beliefs reflect america’s epistemological collapse. In college, I would have never imagined the defense of enlightenment ideals would require such significant upkeep in 2026. 020
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 01/05/2026My wife and I don’t our son look at screens unless a family member is on facetime. I watch most tv/movies after he goes to bed or is napping. But OCCASIONALLY, I have to indulge his profound love of My Neighbor Totoro because sometimes dad needs five minutes to clean the kitchen! 0131
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 30/04/2026After my master’s degree I said I would NEVER go to school again. I was quite sick of it at the time. Today I registered for my first class towards an accounting degree as I will need it to be a CPA candidate. I guess I’m a bit of a masochist. 020
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 29/04/2026I believe the maga-fascist movement is dying quickly. A movement built on worthless grifting with zero cultural or artistic contributions, sustained on ignorant anger with no constructive vision cannot survive. The average american is also (thankfully) too lazy to embrace nationalist fervor. 130
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 29/04/2026What’s a movie in your top 25 that is unlikely to he in anyone else’s Vanya on 42nd Street (Louis Malle, 1994) 020
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 27/04/2026I generally can’t stand outlining, but I am actually doing it for my next project. It’s good to finally write again. 040
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 21/04/2026I seem to read at least one seafaring novel each year. This is my first Joseph Conrad read. Incredible so far. 030
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 16/04/2026Had a dream last night where my wife and I were in a theater watching a Werner Herzog adaptation of Ottessa Moshfegh’s Lapvona which absolutely would be the perfect direction choice for the novel. 020
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 15/04/2026Apparently 7 month old my son loves “Linger” by the Cranberries. Whenever we play it he gets immediately happy. 030

Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 07/04/202677 million incredibly stupid americans brought us to this point. May the shame and guilt of what they afflicted upon the world haunt their wretched minds. 020
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 05/04/2026So I watched this great film called REPRISE but what really struck me is that Anders Danielsen Lie looks EXACTLY like me and it kind if freaked me out the whole time. 050

Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 28/03/2026Horror films never really bother me. Trouble Every Day is the closest to a genuinely unsettling viewing experience I’ve had in a very long time. Claire Denis really runs circles around most horror writer/directors. 020

Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 18/03/2026I’ve switched to playing CDs in the car again. I had to hunt these down back in high school and special order them from Japan. 140
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 10/03/2026I’ve been lately enjoying the pre-code Mervyn Leroy films. Really good stuff. 020
Remo Nassutti @remo-nassutti.bsky.social · 26/01/2026Maybe I was too harsh on my initial reaction to There Will Be Blood. I thought Plainview being such a dumb blunt instrument was unrealistic. But seeing how unfathomably and irredeemably stupid these CEOs and republicans are, the issue is that they depicted Plainview as too unrealistically smart. 012
