Feeling sentimental today, Usually I don't like celebrating my birthday since my Dad died. But since I met my chosen family and my best friends, they've helped me learn to enjoy today. I'm beyond thankful to have them in my life to pick me up when I'm down and to always make me feel loved.

So I may have done a little name change based on a domain I recently purchased.

My 'hehehoho' emote (based on a drawing from DuskyWolf31) with sunglasses similar to the Twitch sunglasses emote modifier. The misalignment of the sunglasses is intentional and makes the 'hehehoho' image even funnier to me.

Here's the funny little props I made :V >:3

Side view of the same cup prop, showing the face is drawn like a protogen. The model is lit with a green tint by a cauldron that is off camera. Also slightly seen is a sign I'm wearing that says 'gopissposs', a derivation of the 'gopissgirl' meme text.

Me in front of a VRC mirror, giving a thumbs up in the cup asset. Also seen is a sign I'm wearing that says 'gopissposs', a derivation of the 'gopissgirl' meme text.

I also realized that for the first time in like 10+ years, I'm participating in Halloween, by proxy of hanging out with people in VRC. It's nice now that I have a group of friends that I can partake in these activities even if it's just in VRC WEEEEEEEHH.

One of the big hurdles to my Blender journey that was giving me lots of anxiety is control rigs. I had the hardest time trying to do research on this and not get overwhelmed/upset. But I finally attempted to make one, for the WerePinata. I’ll do one on my model but I wanted to practice first.

I promise I'll be streaming again soon. My dad's been home a lot more over the past few weeks with Labor Day celebrations and an inconsistent work schedule. But he should be going on an international trip for at least over a week. Expect some catchup streams soon. 👀

I have some new emotes now, made by the wonderful @rustledfluff.bsky.social !!

A lovely graphic made by RustledFluff. From left to right, top to bottom; a screaming/screeching emote, a peeking emote, an emote expressing how I say 'WEH', crying emote, a very angry pointing emote, a POG emote, a sipping/hydrate emote, and an opossum hand waving at you :V

Most of the ARKit blendshapes are just the UE blendshapes from the base avatar with their names changed. There was only like a handful that required some creation. Either by splitting a blendshape into left and right parts, a combination of existing blendshapes, or just made manually.

It's rough, but it works!! I was finally able to get ETVR in a working state with my Index!!

The front of my Valve Index headset with the USB hub and controller boards for ETVR. The boards on the side handles the camera feeds, and the purple board handles the IR LEDs seen on the next photo.

Lens of the Valve Index showing the mounted IR LEDs and camera that powers ETVR.

Remi @remi.hehehoho.me · 11/07/2025

I have everything assembled at the moment, although one of my cameras is really blurry, so I’m working on getting that situated. Thank god I bought extra cameras as backup.

010

Remi @remi.hehehoho.me · 11/07/2025

A BREAKTHROUGH HAS BEEN MADE!! Turns out the cameras I bought from Aliexpress have an IR filter on them, hence why I could not see anything from the IR LEDs. Not only that, but they are in a weird spot in the lens. But after some scraping with an exacto knife, they can be removed!

A YouTube video by G0LDJAY that shows the weird placement of the IR filter. It requires twisting the lens off GENTLY with a pair of pliers, and taking the lens assembly off. The filter is at the end of the lens assembly, which can thankfully be scraped off with an exacto knife.
