Congratulations Addy! This is such an important publication - a whole book on intersex ageing, rescuing the topic from something that might get mentioned as a limitation in research into LGBTQIA ageing, into something about which we now have actual empirically-derived knowledge.

Definitely on my list to read next week. Wishing we'd thought to do something like this when our major international development project was axed midlife, due to cuts to the UK's foreign aid budget.

The thing I love about Meg Conley's work is the way she makes you see the world completely differently by connecting apparently unconnected things. The multiple Spidermans metaphor is a perfect exploration of the effects of what sociologists much more boringly call 'biographical disruption'

Proud (aptly) to have a chapter in this excellent Open Access book. Our chapter is called 'Envisioning queer temporality and queerer futures through letters to self' and is about how letters-to-self might queer temporality and create possibilities for queerer forms of LGBTQ+ ageing.

Putting the final touches to my talk, do I want the audience to actually laugh at my so-called-jokes?! On the one hand I do, obvs, but if they laugh for too long I will go over my allocated time slot. Maybe I should make them really lame and feeble?

Aha, some data! Apparently 100 in-person tickets booked so far & 300 online. Which is about half full for the lecture theatre but still a fraction of online tickets. I guess 'half gone' could be parsed as 'fast'. Maybe there is some scope for shortages for in-person, although you're probably fine.
