Finished winding off the last of the fiber I spun for #tourdefleece2026, finally! Plied, washed, snapped, dried, measured and balled, I have 1445.5 yards of three-ply targhee/targhee/merino. Really looking forward to knitting with it! #handspun #handspinning #spinsky

I spun every day during #tourdefleece! 3lb, 2.4oz total, mostly targhee, some merino, just a few ounces of American rambouillet. It'll be plied in September.

I've spun two pounds of Targhee in thirteen days. My goal has been to learn a more regular, not-hair-fine single: I went from the bright stuff to the dark. I've improved! I've run out of everything I dyed for #TourdeFleece, , so either I dye more or stop here. (More is soaking, to become purple.)

A bobbin with dark green fiber on it. This fiber is much more regular and evenly-spun.

I got the antique spinning wheel I found on FB Marketplace last December up and running! Just in time for Tour de Fleece! I'm really excited. It's such a sweet machine. I don't know how old it is--over a century at the very least--but it's like it *wants* to spin.

I have in the past recommended Select Seeds as a company, because of their catalogue; I rescind that recommendation. In 2024 I bought cosmos seeds from them, and then was too busy with vegetables and my health to start them. I started them this year, and one variety is mis-packaged lettuce.

a tray of seedlings; two thirds are cosmos seedlings, while one third is visibly lettuce.

In 1997 I found this dress at a Goodwill in Cottonwood, Arizona. It cost six dollars. I wore it and a peacock-feather mask for Halloween, then I cut off the sleeves and the top of the bodice, and proceeded to wear it at least twice a month until graduating high school in 2001.

A dark green 1980's taffeta prom dress. It has very puffy sleeves that go to the elbow, and a skirt that is nearly to the ankles in the back, and a few inches higher in the front.

The same green dress, slightly from the side, showing off the very puffy-shouldered sleeves.

Look at these dorky glasses. I can't decide if I love them. I like the color!

A dark haired multiethnic woman in a purple t-shirt and boxy, purple-framed glasses, holding up her phone, reflected in a mirror.

Closer on the woman's face, the clunky purple glasses frames viewed straight-on.

I sent to take the garbage bin to the street and saw that my rosebush had just thrown a ton of deeply-scented new blooms.

Signed out of Google, in a private window, that's the top of the autocomplete. Proud of many brave women today.

A screencap of Google's search page. Typed into the question field is "can my h" and the top line of the autocomplete suggests "can my husband find out who i voted for"

If you see this, quote post with something green from a photo you took 📸

Show me a picture on your phone that has your energy but isn't a selfie

A visibly furious Jiang Yanli (a young Chinese woman in expensive ancient dress, black hair ornamented with elegant jewelry) stares just to the right of the camera, at Jin Zizun (a Chinese man only slightly visible, with long black hair). Text reads
"THAT'S IT
YOU'RE GOING IN THE SOUP"

1. What is happening 2. Why is that guy tagging C-drama RP accounts 3. Jun Wu would be an *undeniable* improvement, questionable interpersonal habits or not. #mxtx #tgcf

A Donald Trump tweet reading "@junwurp I’ll send you IMPORTANT ELECTION UPDATES for North Carolina. Make sure you are ready to VOTE FOR DONALD J. TRUMP by November 5th."

As reply from the tagged account, a shopped photo of a podium flanked by American flags, with Jun Wu--the king of holy immortals from the drama Heaven Official's Blessing, complete with high guan and elaborately flowing many-layered clothing, with the text "I'm the better option. You don't want to start beef with me, Don."

As a reply from a third person, the text "Your Majesty, we need your election slogans and program."

The Jun Wu RP account replies "Body in Abyss, Heart in America."

Finished my birthday quilt in plenty of time! Went up on the Blue Ridge Parkway to take photos and caught a beautiful sunset.

A quilt for my birthday! I've been hoarding Halloween fabric for several years and have been unsure how I wanted to use it, so I did a really simple nine-patch to get through the creation anxiety.

A mostly finished patchwork quilt on the floor, with two skeins of yarn laid on top of it. The quilt is made of taupe, black and orange Halloween-themed fabrics; the yarn is purple and orange.
