What people think being Christlike means is really more like the Buddha What Christlike means is more like a deadbeat dad who says he’s going for smokes and when he gets back he’ll throw whoever doesn’t call him the prince of peace into a lake of fire—and then stays gone for more than 2,000 years

It’s a popular question to ask why Christians should believe anything in the Old Testament, but that’s because the public is not in contact with the theology Theologically speaking, the Old Testament is indispensable because without it the New Testament has no legitimacy

Christians have cared about the Old Testament ever since their first major wave of heretical purges Heretics have almost always wanted to do away with it And usually that was what made them heretics to the orthodox, who still cling to it in principle but abandon it in practice whenever expedient

Whenever I see the next young woman a fraction of POTUS’ age whom he invites into his intimate circle, I think of David and Abishag That was the name of the young woman King David molested last Believers think both men were types of Christ And perhaps they did have something in common with him

This is a really excellent meme The problem is, it shows the creator hasn’t read the Bible either, any more than the people he’s criticizing, and probably less The fact is, people who go to church know perfectly well what’s in it even if they don’t read it themselves That’s what they worship for

Many people have said Jesus always stood for the oppressed But I really think he has been overrated He said victims should forgive whoever struck them 70 x 7 and give the other cheek He said widows should give their last mites to support rabbis and disciples Why wasn’t the widow one of the 12?

Whenever a Republican says anything about trans people, tell them nobody is making them They can be trans if they want, but nobody is making them Nobody is making their kids trans either If someone’s kid wants to be trans and they don’t know, that says more about them than it says about their kid

Racsoe and the Rats of Nimh will happen in real life before Christians who believe the Bible will admit people can be transgender

Every time I hear about a church enabling an abuser, I have the same thoughts they had It happens about every day Those most offended are shocked that it could happen there Those least offended remember what Jesus said Turn the other cheek, go an extra mile and forgive whoever offends you 70 x 7

You can defend the new holocaust if you wish As for me, I say Palestine shall be free

Religion *is* politics @religionispolitics.bsky.social · 15/10/2026
Both the US and USSR sponsored the colonization of Palestine in 1948 It’s hard to believe, but both Eastern and Western Christians responded to a Holocaust by making the conspiracy theory that was used to incite it come true, and using it to start another one in a place better aligned with prophecy

Yeah he’s talking about hate crimes And Jesus would tell the victims to turn the other cheek 70 times 7

A pig like him comments on a woman’s weight any chance he gets but he’s always talking about big strong men Of course it’s as much a projection as the bone spurs were If anything convinces me of the nonexistence of God, it’s the persistent faith people have in Trump

My guess is that it has to do with my persistent habit of posting atheism Those posts probably offend big tent people I’m a big tent person myself and I wouldn’t carry on like this except that religion is what I see keeping people out of the big tent Either that or my support for Palestine

Yes, the persons are who I am talking about The persons have been undermining the public school system instead of investing in it for as long as there has been a public school system And now we see the predictable results

I don’t necessarily disagree Certainly evil is banal But I can offer a particular diagnosis This represents a failure of public education precipitated in the free marketplace for factuality by a religiously motivated activist movement that has always sought to undermine public education itself

Believe me, I know they want to reinstate slavery I know which ones And their pocketbooks are not hurting They believe God did the Old Testament for a reason They’re betting Pascal’s wager that he did They don’t see anything necessarily cruel about that because they also believe in hell

The best thing about the President running campaign ads with tax dollars against judges’ orders is that he will absolutely approve every ad himself and they will show it The worst thing is, it means even this level of criminality is only the tip of the iceberg for him

If anyone who voted MAGA is sad about what they got for their vote, they shouldn’t be They wanted the global economy to be a bank robbery and now that’s what it is They wanted to halt their country’s liberal progress and injure and insult innocent people all over the world and that’s what they did

It would be surprising if they weren’t doing that With his campaign promise to criminalize and deport 11 million people or more, the president openly aspired to be the most prolific trafficker in history And the votes that were cast for him after that measured either ignorance or malice or both
