nhl salary cap increaser @relativelyneu.bsky.social · 22/12/2024Wouldn’t rule out Vaakanainen forcing his way into the Rangers future. He’s doing a lot of things the Rangers like and committing to him isn’t going to be very expensive 010

nhl salary cap increaser @relativelyneu.bsky.social · 19/12/2024Biggest takeaway for me from the fantastic Vince piece is that Drury isn’t even remotely in the hot seat and that they need to split his roles into President of Hockey Ops and GM, where Drury becomes just the President and they hire another GM. 020
nhl salary cap increaser @relativelyneu.bsky.social · 19/12/2024@blueshirtsbreak.bsky.social the theory is looking really really goodlohud.comDo the Rangers have a culture problem? An exclusive look at what's bubbling at MSGA series of events created friction that has now penetrated the Blueshirts' locker room and coincided with the team's worst results in years. 010
nhl salary cap increaser @relativelyneu.bsky.social · 19/12/2024This is Drury making space to build the roster in his image. Vaakanainen and Borgen might find their way into the Rangers future but they aren’t players that Drury needs to commit to. 120

nhl salary cap increaser @relativelyneu.bsky.social · 18/12/2024Even in literally the best of circumstances where the Rangers tank and win the lottery, there’s no immediate help coming. This is a mediocre at best draft and the best center available (Hagens) could probably use another year in college all things considered. 000
nhl salary cap increaser @relativelyneu.bsky.social · 18/12/2024At least the way media talked about him around the time he got picked up by Minnesota, he was always advertised as a puck mover, a lower line up guy with PP2 upside. Really interesting to see those stats for him. 000
nhl salary cap increaser @relativelyneu.bsky.social · 18/12/2024This is actually nuts cause until this year the whole problem was that he couldn’t play defense. 000
nhl salary cap increaser @relativelyneu.bsky.social · 18/12/2024Barring shocking revelations about Chris Drury, the clear narrative forming about this team is that they are more concerned about playing with their friends then winning hockey games. nhl salary cap increaser @relativelyneu.bsky.social · 17/12/2024Honestly a great theory. Dolan wanting a Consigliere for each franchise kind of tracks, and it bodes well for Drury surviving to make another roster in his image. nhl salary cap increaser @relativelyneu.bsky.social · 16/12/2024Fleeting thought as the NYR slide further: Drury didn’t have the cleanest promotion to GM - it’s been somewhat unclear where he stood with ownership.
