Netflix recently re-added the original 6 Trek movies here in Argentina. The thumbnails are certainly a choice, and half of them are different when viewed on TV for some reason. Why do streaming services always screw these up? lol #StarTrek

I wanted to have a TNG-era cargo shuttle, but I was getting nowhere trying to model the Type-9a as it doesn't work very well in 3D without changes. I decided instead to create a variant of the Type-6. The regular Type-6 has a clear cut separating the forward […] [Original post on mastodon.social]

We lost Peperino today, after a lifelong battle with a chronic illness and a particularly bad last few months. He was on the path to recovery but his body just couldn't take it, he tried his best and never gave up, and we're proud of him and thankful to all the moments and memories.

From time to time I still come across people believing in the "Roddenberry rules of starship design" and I cringe every time. These were never an official thing. They were just the guidelines that Roddenberry and Probert agreed on for the design of the […] [Original post on mastodon.social]

The (non-existent) 4 rules of starship design
Rule #1: Warp nacelles *must* be in pairs.
Rule #2: Warp nacelles must have at least 50% line-of-sight on each other across the hull.
Rule #3: Both warp nacelles must be fully visible from the front.
Rule #4: The bridge must be located at the top center of the primary hull.

Across the Unknown made me so nostalgic for Voyager, as a kid it was my favorite Trek show because it had the most action and ship shots. I remember being in my grandparents' house and seeing the add for the premiere, here it wouldn't be aired until late 97, when I was 4; it's one of my first […]
