Regulus @regulustera.bsky.social · 03/10/2026What I hate about this is that fansub groups actively avoid the popular shows because they assume there’s no need to work on them. So who knows how long until a fix. 011
Regulus @regulustera.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Started the new season of apothecary Diaries, uh, is Crunchyroll doing AI shit again? Their subtitles are garbage, not in how the dialogue is translated but in how they’re encoded. 210

Regulus @regulustera.bsky.social · 03/10/2026There is a fight against him and his weird dog earlier in Shinra HQ, but maybe a smart writer would have moved that to the moment they leave the city. Maybe have him pilot the next that you have to fight on the highway in the original! Just anything but wasting the Sephiroth encounter this early. 210
Regulus @regulustera.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I mention Rufus because the main villain of the Midgar section IS Shinra. There really can be no further escalation there than the new pretty boy CEO who has a vested interest in destroying Avalanche. 110
Regulus @regulustera.bsky.social · 03/10/2026(The real sin here is in making a 30 hour 1997 RPG into a cinematic 200 hour experience, but I’m not the one bankrolling the project) 110
Regulus @regulustera.bsky.social · 03/10/2026If I was Mr. Square Enix and wanted to make Sephiroth feel like a threat I probably wouldn’t have wasted his fight and One Winged Angel at the end of the Midgar escape, when a new player still has no idea who this fucko is. If you need Ala final boss then just give Rufus a mech or something. 280
Regulus @regulustera.bsky.social · 03/10/2026The Remake trilogy should in theory be a perfect opportunity to give this aspect of both characters more texture, but instead they’ve ballooned the story to such an extent they need to fill the gaps, and the easiest way to do that is be relying on imagery that is well retread. 040
Regulus @regulustera.bsky.social · 03/10/2026This is an issue with the current writing team treating Sephiroth as what he was in Advent Children (fanservice) vs what he was in 1997: a physical representation of Cloud’s trauma to being unable to overcome the Nibelheim incident that he had to cope with for his own growth. 2200
