According to the ABC, PM Anthony Albanese has "guaranteed" the Refugee and Humanitarian Program will not be cut, despite earlier reports that it would be cut by 6,250 places. While this is welcome news, we should not and will not cease our advocacy for the protection of the humanitarian program.

The report following the Senate inquiry into offshore processing calls for more transparency and oversight - but it's simply not enough. There must be an end to Australia's inhumane legacy of offshore detention, and the exorbitant cost and corruption that come with it.
