Original quality for comparison, the upscaler didn't introduce the weird proportions, it just smoothed everything out badly

i'm calling BS. you can see 16 bars right here in the current 120 star WR video played on original hardware. i'm pretty sure this is the original Japanese release as well so I doubt it's some sort of revisional difference
