The sun was reading a book today Until a cloud got in the way They read and admired and argued about the mage Who had written page after page after page Then the wind snuck in and stole all the words away.

That Tree. Early in my reconnection with photography and my first digital camera I shot the Wānaka tree. Sadly these days it possesses less limbs than in this image, but continues to sit proudly in the water. The LE image was taken in the last light of the day. #photography

Pretty memories.
A lagoon with small, calm waves running clear on smooth sand, ending in a neat thin piping of white foam. The sky is later afternoon blue and the sun looks closer to the horizon than it actually was.

Went out to water the mums and discovered this little friend
Dragonfly in the sun on a very dirty plant stand. Large potted purple aster in the background. The sun was warm so we were both basking for a little.

Very pretty, but there was a swell, a strong breeze and high tide. I learnt that even lagoons get temperamental.
A deceptively calm-looking lagoon with colours of ultramarine at the horizon, moving into turquoise, then aquamarine, then running clear over yellow sand dotted with pieces of coral. The lagoon is sparkling with the light of the early afternoon sun.

Sometimes, the sky is grey.
Heavt grey clouds loom over a deserted lagoon. There are a few dots of seaweed in the foreground, some people dotted in the distance and a small bunch of trees beyond the sand. The water is calm and retains some hints of defiant aquamarine.

Deep breaths
A lagoon scene with sand in the foreground, lapped by tiny clear waves which turn aqua, then turquoise, deepening into a thin line of indigo blue at the horizon. The sky is a deep blue swept through with clouds.

Almost certainly the best thing I was ever told about owls was when I met an owl handler at an owl sanctuary and he told me that the wild owls who lived near the sanctuary worried about the tame show owls there and sometimes stopped by to leave them shrews and mice as presents.
The fabulous owl, Lady Jane Grey, with her handler, Pete, in Totnes, Devon, in 2016.

the frame is split into two photos. the one on the left shows a black dog with a very subtle white stripe down his nose as well as a slightly gray patch on his chest. the image on the right shows the same pup a decade later. his face and legs are nearly all white now.
